Anyone else able to measure their grill frame holes to confirm 0.305" diameter on all 4 corners?

    I'll check tomorrow.

I can confirm that the 5B speaker grill holes are close to .305". Some measured .001" smaller or larger but probably average .305".

Big difference between 5B and 7B's then. My 7B's measure around 0.480"

    Thanks Nesmith, that's encouraging.
Gardenstater, are you able to measure the corresponding enclosure hole diameter? It's depth is important too when going billet.
Another caveat is my 5B grill frame holes were drilled through all the way. Curious if your 7Bs are the same.

I suspected polk had bigger plastic pegs for the heavier grill frames?

hey xschop no I can't measure the holes in the baffle but yes, the holes in the grill covers are thru holes like yours. The plastic pegs are hemispherical at the ends and taper down towards the baffle, with a slit in the ends so that they are springy. They work great and it is fairly difficult to remove the grill covers but I leave them off unless there is going to be rambunctious kids in my house when my neighbors visit (or used to before this virus that is).

    You suspected correctly.

Holes in 2.3tl grills are slightly different sizes as you can see here.

Measured the top of the peg collar at front bezel. Hole will be slightly smaller of course.

To get my measurements, I mic'd with same calipers along the full depth of the drilled holes at 12 and 6 o'clock then 3 and 9 o'clock and took average.

The corresponding baffle hole has to be measured and then it's replacement billet diameter can be reduced to allow for play, then set with glue on the baffle.

I found a couple of my old 5Jr pegs, so this mod would work on those models as well.
