going from RtiA9 to what ?

advise me . I have tax money coming soon and I may buy new speakers . I was looking for some used Klipsch but I really like the Polk build better on some models. I almost wish I didnt sell my 9's but I did. currently running some AV123 Onix Rocket 850's but they are a lot like my other speakers so I might be wanting to change. was looking at the S60. what else is there under $1K ?

What other gear do you have? Room size, and type of system would be a helpful start.

room ? 15 x 12 or so. im running a Arcam AV8 pre and wyred 4 sound st-1000 .I listen to rock and blues and some country.

the RTiA9's were fine I just wanted to try something else. I was running different amp them . now I can run pretty much anything with the amp I have. I have a 2nd amp for subs . 2 of them.

I see that the S60 S50 S55 are about the only thing I can buy under $1K now. The LSi is more.

I you have two subs why not try the LSiM703s from Adorama? They are $450 shipped right not, so you have plenty of money to adda really nice pair of stands like these https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sanus-steel-foundations-series-bookshelf-speaker-stands-pair-black/2945495.p?skuId=2945495&ref=212&loc=1&ref=212&loc=1&ds_rl=1268667&gclid=CjwKCAiA98TxBRBtEiwAVRLquy8s_DZCZIDNSVcjoIqTgyn2LD893KjGCKLkGXCsmEzjUX1rRVCWlhoChNQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

They are very musical speakers, great midrange, nice bass extension and slam for their size, and the top end will be MUCH better for music that the RTiA9s. They are warmish and laid back so it will be a VERY different sound...

That is a crazy good price for those speakers. I can't believe they are that low. For that kind of money I would grab them myself. Now you got me thinking. Sorry carry on.

OR I grab 2 SVS PB2000 Pro Subs or 2 JL E Sub 12 inches and ditch the older Def Tech sub. Then I'd probably have to grab a pair of 265- LS in walls for Surround and maybe build a pretty killer system on the cheap.

I really like those speakers. I just havnt done any research on them. I was looking at the dozens of damaged LSi705's on the site the other day. must get beat up in shipping quite a bit

Weird quote, but anyway. The towers do get damaged a lot. Polk’s packaging is underwhelming to say the least. BUT the bookies and LSiMfx are double boxed (I owned both) and are much more reliable...mine where both perfect, two different pairs of 703s and one pair of lsimfx...

All I can tell you is the that LSiM series is a significant step up SQ wise from the rtiA, and that the 703s are a big sounding bookie. With two good subs I would venture that yes, they could replace towers. But if you don’t like them you won’t lose any money reselling them...

KEF Reference 5 which is what I'm doing. But the LSiM are amazing especially at the price.
