Preamp connection to Sub

Options
Hi,

I have a Rogue Perseus pre that I want to hook up to a Velodyne powered sub for music. I know I should connect it from the variable output section on the pre. The pre has 2 outputs but the sub only has 1 RCA input. Should I get a Y splitter from 2 to 1 or can I just plug in the 1 cable?

TIA

I've always used one of these in those situations:

This is the external amp for the Sub.

    Thanks!

Connect the left and right variable pre out from your preamp to the left and right input on your sub amp labeled “from pre-amp.”

Is this one of those really old velodyne servo subs? I thought on those the amp was built in but the servo control until was external???
