Nice Marantz DV 7001 SACD/CD/DVD player can upsample audio

Selling my Marantz DV 7001 SACD/CD/DVD DVD Audio and so on player I am the 2nd owner of this unit. I owned one for many years and then sold it. Ii missed it so found this one and have had it for a while but would like to try something else. It is in great shape and works perfectly There are a coupler of scratches on the top right rear but that is it. Includes the Marantz system remote, power cord and copy of the manual. The 7001 has many great reviews online and is known for its CD playback sound. I can attest to this as in side by sides with some REALLY good CD players I preferred the clean and rich more natural sound of the 7001. Audio and video boards are separated and special attention is paid to audio. I think this is one of the few Marantz DVD players that uses their HDAM units in the audio signal path which probably explains the good sound. Can also upsample audio. It plays every type of disc EXCEPT blu ray. See below. It is NOT a blu ray player The player works as it should and is one of the best I have had at reading bad discs. The remote is the Marantz system remote (controls some integrateds. Built like a tank at 16l lbs Asking $195 or BO Thanks

There's a note in the manual saying "If you listen to multichannel DVD-Audio through one of the digital outputs, it will be down mixed to stereo. Also, high sampling rate DVD-Audio (192HKz or 176.4HKz) will be down sampled to 96, 88.2, 48 or 44 KHz, depending on the disc. Multi channel and high sampling rate DVD-Audio are only available through the analog outputs. All DVD-Audio and SACD audio are output only through the analog outputs."

To the best of my knowledge

there may of been a firmware update that may have made my prior comment not valid, but as it came from the factory no it could not send those signals through HDMI.

You may want a spare anyway. I had that same Oppo and it died due to a failed power supply board. Apparently this is a common failure.
