Strange EQ guy keeps lowering the price of his. It was at $1,900 and now it's at $1,800: https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis9fe5b-marantz-pm-14s1-solid-state

Got a chuckle out of the item description: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264395264827

"i do not have the original packaging but have experience shipping heavy amps & will package well."

Uh-huh. Right. How many times have we heard that before on here?

I will say, if you have the time and patience to mess with it and the deal is good enough, I might be willing to give it a shot. After all, we have also (unfortunately) see how ebay/paypal protects the buyer ad absurdum...it is very easy for the buyer to get a refund.

Edit: I got my models mixed up.

That one is nice, but a little pricey for me.

If he can't be bothered to reply to a simple inquiry about the remote control, then he likely doesn't have it.

Says, Box, Manual, cords and original packing material. So, no remote. How could he not have the remote???

If you think they are a reliable seller, why not just find out how much Marantz charges for a replacement remote, and negotiate on the price?

Maybe. But if the seller doesn't even have the professional courtesy to respond to a simple inquiry then I am not interested in doing business with him.

Well TBH I would never engage in a transaction of that size unless it is through eBay or a business like TMR or a dealer and using a major credit card for the extra protection, but that’s just me...

Ok, noted. I have never used US/Canuck Audio Mart before but I don't see how it could be worse than eBay.

I’ve used USaudiomart many times. Maybe I’ve been lucky but I am yet to have an issue with anyone or the gear they are selling. I just check for feedback on the seller before even thinking about engaging in a transaction.

This is true but PayPal does offer some buyer protection, or you may be lucky enough to do a cash transaction face to face if the location works out.

eBay 100% backs the buyer if there are any issues. Very easy to get a full refund within 30 days. It’s the seller that can get screwed there...

I don't even know why I want it, I just think it would be cool to own one and hear it. Plus it would match my SA-KI Ruby.

But realistically I have nowhere to store it and I'm already being owned by my devices, instead of the other way around.
