Always has to be some jerk peeing in everyone's cheerios. Thanks to those of you who contributed to the convo. I'll take it to a gun shop and get it ID'd.

Another way to look at it is there always has to be some jerk who believes the rules don't apply to him. We're here for Audio, at the expense and grace of POLK, not jimmylee123. Or, you could go on looking at it your way being a jerk, until they shut it down.

Most of the posts in the clubhouse are against the rules. We should only be posting about how our day went. The most popular threads are all in violation.

    "Gentlemen,
This is a reminder about the overall content of the Clubhouse category of Club Polk. I was there when Micah, Al and Paul created the forum way back when. The Clubhouse was intended to be a category where someone could talk about their day. Maybe grouse about thick traffic or "day at the park" kind of postings. It was not to be a place for "everything not related to audio" as some believe. I know some topics can be popular, but they don't belong on Club Polk.
    Thanks, Ken "

As for how long these forums last I think the writing is on the wall. Polk does not feel the need to assign any employee for even part time moderation. It is not going to be caused by any one post.

Seems to me that things are going better w/out the "moderators".

Why have a clubhouse that goes something like this:
"How was your day/" "fine how was yours?"
Speakers: Polk Lsim, ATC SCM19 v2, NHT SuperzeroSpeaker Cables: DH Labs, Transparent, Wireworld, Canare, Monster: Beer budget, Bose ears

I hope they would recognize the value of the wealth of information and personal knowledge/helpfulness amassed and ongoing here. It's a tremendous credit to their brand. Polk community service in depth and ways that are impractical/impossible for customer service employees to provide. When most companies are seeking social networking opportunities, and even hiring for them, to forfeit a strong one that's ongoing would be mid last-century thinking or before.
Expect that there will be bumps in the road. Choose to not let them rattle you.

    Polk - Monitor 10As, SDA 2Bs, LSi9s, White RTi4s, S4s, M3s, various centers.

Obviously, you never bothered to read the rules. If you had you would have seen the following.

    4) Pornography and violent images are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives. Duh.

The irony in your comment is you are the one coming off as the jerk.

Then that's perfectly ok. No mention of wall art in the rules.

I found a powerful one handed cross-bow in an attic 50 years ago. That thing was cool and dangerous too.

In all honesty, I'm ok with the post itself, but, I see it as a slippery slope on the walk of a fine line. In today's society someone from Polk gets wind of a gun on their forum and that becomes the final straw and they pull the plug. Wonder if I can come up with any more cliches.

Not sure how an antique firearm gets lumped in with images of violence.........I hope there were no posts about fireworks over the fourth. That is an explosive and shooting them off yourself is illegal in many states (and will blow your fingers off).

So apparently there are slippery slopes on both sides. And both slide down to the lowest level.
