Looking for insulated banana plugs

Currently have spades on amp and speakers. Seem to have a hard time keeping them tight and the other day they touched each other on one speaker and result was a blown tube(could have been worse!). So I'm going back to nanners and to be on the safe side maybe they should be insulated? Locking screws for wire connection preferable to solder.
Yep, my name really is Bob.

That is very odd -- vacuum tube audio amplifiers don't usually mind short circuits.

The amp's(ss) protection circuit kicked in. The tube was in the pre....not sure if that's unusual or not.

That seems even odder -- although I do have a terrible head cold and I am not thinking clearly.

When I tighten spades to a post I don't just screw down the post. I start that way but when it seems tight I then wiggle the spade (there is always some play), back it off a bit and tighten the last time by moving the spade AND the post screw together. You can get it a lot tighter. Just be careful......don't overtighten it and break something.

    Or how about electrical tape?

    Better than a blown speaker.
