Thoughts on this TV?

Saw this set at Costco a couple weeks ago. Haven't bought a TV in years so I don't know what to look for. A bit leery about being a floor model but since Costco doubles the warranty that's probably a non issue. Oh, and I went by today and it was further marked down to $890....

That Tv is a Costco specific model and I’m not sure of the standard equivalent. Although it seems mid level, $890 for a solid 75 4K tv with Costco warranty is pretty insane imo...

It may be possible to check the number of hours the TV has been on through a service menu if the remote is available to you. Of course, they might not want you to do this unless you buy it.

Hard to beat a 75" screen for under $900 from any place.

that's the Sony equal to the Samsung 7 series. At that price go for it. If it last a year it will last 5 years. If you're going from 1080p to 4k it will look amazing
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

A little over a year ago I bought a floor model Sony 65” X900E from Best Buy and I absolutely love it. The picture quality blows away all the other TVs we’ve had and those other ones aren’t that old. I say do it!

I considered buying the Costco Sony, but went to Best Buy and pay a little more to get the one we saw had the better ratings. A few more bucks upfront is worth it.

On edit we still use our Panasonic 50 inch plasma that we purchased from Costco in 2006 and it works great.

The KD models are the lower end sets from Sony. The picture quality isn’t as good as the X series, couldn’t find screen type on the 780, but the 750 and 850 series use ipa screens. These generally tend to be more grayish, when viewed from directly in front of screen, but are better at wider angles than VA screens.

Here’s a list of some specs:
