    :)

I was thinking (also) of John Adams last words:
    Thomas Jefferson still survives.

July 4, 1826 -- exactly 50 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

(... and Jefferson actually predeceased Adams, albeit only by hours!)

Polkonanier sounds like some kind of high-tech, must-have cycling accessory -- or maybe something used by the top-flight rock wall climbers.

These budget manufacturers are just consolidating. Nothing major here. There will always be independent, high end manufacturers for stereo gear. Also, Pass is solely independent at this time. When Nelson retires then all bets are off.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

Agree, often times it's out of these mass moves that someone breaks away to start their own company to fill a need.

I might be thinking of Krell...

Pass Labs is owned by Nelson Pass and IIRC, another partner or two. Definitely still independent.

P.s. I know a group bought Aragon and were going to try and resurrect it and maybe Krell too.

Is this group different than the indyaudiolabs folks (formerly Klipsh employees)?

Looks like they still own Aragon and Acurus.... nothing on Krell.....

And both Aragon and Acurus dont have a lot out in what most consumers would call low-mid avr range....
