You can also play it to a Bluetooth device TB.... And i think roon supports your Sonos devices as well so you still use them. I don't think you can join the dis-similar bluesound and Sonos devices but you would be able to use roon to control everything.

Yes to all of your questions. I have a good router/cable modem so I have no issues even getting a great signal out in the shop. Router is basically in the center of the house, in a bedroom. The current play que is displayed on the right of the screen by default.

FWIW, I use an Ipad mini 4 to run BluOS. My cable internet account w/Cox is the 2nd from the Top tier of internet bandwidth; real world down loads wirelessly are typically 30-40Gb, via Ethernet right at 100Gb.

    Have you used Tidal Tony?

It's difficult for me to articulate sound quality because I also have a new preamp/dac in the mix---whatever the case may be, they sound great as a combo.

Me either. I leave the Node2 on all the time so I dont have to keep reloading the files

IMPORTANT NOTE: Something I forgot to mention, the Node 2i is the first network player I have owned that actually does gapless play correctly, without any intervention. I tested it with 3 different albums (Rush, Pink Floyd, Boston)....seamless. Other players have introduce a slight "hitch" or blank spot before transitioning to the next song, including my Oppo, which you also had to select "gapless play" before playing the album, instead of it just working without intervention. Bravo Bluesound!

Some stats on album art and BluOS; cover.jpg or folder.jpg (*.png also acceptable), resolution doesn't matter, as everything is sized to 600x600, but there is a 600kb max file size limit.

    Steve,

I know you used to run your files threw the OPPO, have you compared the files run by way of the BS in comparison ? Better/worse/same ? Sound wise obviously.

I want to say the sound seems a bit more refined via the HDD-->Node 2i. The interface is CERTAINLY far better, far faster, as is gapless playback. The Node 2i just WORKS exactly as you would expect it to. No hitches, no strange behavior, fast indexing, etc. With the Oppo, music playback feels like an after-thought.

Imagine building a workbench with hand tools = Oppo
Imagine building a workbench with power tools = Node 2i

    Pretty much sums it up.

I have an Ipad mini 4, but use a Windows laptop. Basically bought the Ipad to use with these new network players. Back when I had my SQB Touch, I bought the fancy-pants remote with screen. I sat too far to see the SQB screen.

Pulling up an OLD thread, but didn't feel the need to start a new one.

Stupid question below possibly, but I can't quite figure it our with certainty.

Right now I have a little $30 bluetooth receiver I stream Spotify from my iPhone to my main system for dinner/background music. Problem is, whenever I use my phone for anything else it interrupts that. The Node 2i streams Spotify on it's own, correct? So I can use any other app on my phone without interrupting the music?

And if so...do I control Spotify through the Bluesound app? Or do I send the music through my Spotify app to the Node?

    Thanks in advance.

    Paul

You can also use Spotify connect (and Tidal as well) which means you pick the songs from right within your Spotify or tidal app on your phone and your phone just tells the node what to play. It’s not Bluetooth. It’s very slick and convenient.
