These particular Dali speakers are not that great. Retail was only 1600 for the pair, and the cabinets has a cheap vinyl fake wood exterior. Nothing to see here people.

Huh... I think I'm thinking of something else then. Sorry for the false alarm!

I know Sharp isn't going to excite anyone here, but I love the look of the integrated. Reminds me of the JVC I had way back when.

I ended up getting these today. The integrated is a Sharp SM-1144 made in Japan and has more than enough power to drive my M5jr's. The tuner is a Sharp ST-1122, which works well but could use some deoxit probably.

Haven't tried out the CD player yet, but will probably update that soon anyway. Was thinking I might pick up some S-20's to go with this for a small music setup in the family room. Fun stuff.

It's a deal at 1200... I have no real opinion one way or another on Krell. THIS is a steal at that price. Had I not already grabbed the X0.2, I would have bought this already.

I've had the 580s for a couple years now, and I'll be the first to say I don't think they are the best buy at their full retail price. However, during these sales they are worth considering. They are hard to find but if you can audition them they are worth a listen at this price. They lean to the bright side of things, and they are really intended for a large room. In my room the bass was also a little bloated, but didn't dig deep. They come with supplied port plugs, which helped significantly to tighten up the sound. Then I integrated a sub to help the system did lower, which I really enjoy.

Sale price puts them in line with the Elac Debut towers. Very different sounds. The JBLs are more lively and forward. Probably more accurate on vocals from my memory as well. On the other end, the debuts are more airy and laid back. If you can hear both, it'll give you a good sampling of which style you prefer.
