^^^Believe Rick intentionally got himself banned and went out with a bang, so to speak. I do miss him around here - he was a good guy.

Edit - looks like he’s not banned, but IIRC he said he was leaving and posted some, uh, pictures to go out on a high note.

From the inside sleeve of... umm... either Hasten Down the , or was it Prisoner in Disguise? I am too lazy to look (even though those LPs ar all of 15 feet from where I sit typing this). :p

Youda thunk theyda had better headphones in a studio (maybe AKG or Sennheiser, back in those days - or even Koss Pro4A or AA), no? ;)

Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Sad to see the names of all the folks who don't post anymore. I can't really pinpoint a reason why I stopped posting. This place used to be a huge social outlet for me.

Is it to early to be missing the good Ken and Jesse yet?

  • For sure Scottyboy. Pretty cool dude who, unfortunately, had gone through some troubles in life, but was still pretty cool.

I miss Richard. Very knowledgeable and I like his speaking of his daughter's travels through the Far East.
Allowed me to live vicariously through his postings because ..... well I'm cheap and lazy. ;):)

Damn, when you list all those excellent people that used to be a part of the Polk Community, it makes me very sad. They are all great people, and I hope they are doing well (that are still here instead of moved to the next realm of existence). I didn't realize that Rich (SCompRacer) left....when did that happen? Same with schwarcw......

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Wait, you were just on the "not on here anymore" list.... And yet you posted.... My mind is completely blown Carl.

In all seriousness.....Ben was the first person from the forum I talked to on the phone. He helped me figure out why my Aragon 8008bb amplifier was making a loud "thumping" sound. He was a very helpful, friendly Polkie. I will always appreciate his selfless help.

Also, if Jesse gets banned from this forum, I will not be on here anymore. He is one of the basic fabrics that make this forum what it is. Just wanted to put that out there.....

Also, Rich is still on here........I just looked at his profile and saw he was on yesterday.

I am around but I don't post as often anymore. I think that I had about 6,000 posts in my first five years. Maybe 200 in the last three years? I have no explanation. I love audio and the people here are still great people. I love to read and learn.

Some of our new people probably haven't experienced the forum member calls to "Release the Kraken!) LOL!

I think I already tried this lame joke, but I really like that album cover (even though it always creeps me out a little bit when I see it). Not a bad album, either. Very much of its time.
