  I pushed the speakers back another 1/4" closer to the wall. Not impressed. Undid the move.
  
  Then I moved them 1/2" further apart. Best so far.
  
  Also, I am using a string across the baffles to make sure they are parallel.

  I pulled the speakers out from the wall another 1/4". Better sound stage and cleaner, stronger bass.
