    Here is the relevant passage from the NFL's case book, a series of examples within its rulebook that helps explain how rules are applied:

    "When a pass is ruled incomplete, either team can challenge that it was a catch and fumble and that they gained possession of the ball, if there is a clear recovery. The replay official can also initiate a review of this play if it occurs after the two-minute warning or during overtime. If there is video evidence of a clear recovery by either team, the ball will be awarded to that team at the spot of the recovery, but no advance will be allowed. On fourth down or inside two minutes, the ball will be brought back to the spot of the fumble if recovered beyond it."

    All that needed to happen for either team was to pickup, or land on the ball to claim it instead of the REF

    Not that it made a difference to the outcome. It looks like ball was tipped on FG attempt? There are videos that seem to show it and Eagles player says he got a piece of it? Oh well. Great season for my team. Rookie coach is awesome. It was awesome living up here in the land of milk and honey smack talking all the Viking and Packer fans all year! Very proud of my team. They played a hard fought game.

    Next weekend will surely have a lot more points on the boards. More offensive weapons and more accurate throwing quarterbacks.

    The Colts Andrew Luck will be there and they seem to be playing OK enough to give the Chiefs a challenge.

    I don't know what will happen with the Patriots. They were hit and miss this year. I still would put money on them...but not much. :D

    The Refs... :# I saw so much again this year. I was thinking yesterday, I could be doing so many other things besides watching those no-called holdings or pass interferences that I could be caught up on the to do list and be trying to sell my collection. I saw a receiver get bashed in the head before the ball got to him and "NO INTERFERENCE was called! :# :'( . It was obvious and then the replay in the stadium made the fans BOO loudly for a few seconds. Come on Refs!!! get it together or I'm doing other things next year on Sundays like I used to.

    Our kicker is shaky at best, the Eagles were smart using their final time out to throw off his rhythm.

    Like my wife says though....they have one job to do, and at that level and for what they get paid, you'd better do it well.

    I said earlier I didn't see the Bears going too deep into the playoffs, I was right. That kicker though, better go into hiding, go on vacation, just get out of town for a few months. Fans are ready to burn that dudes house down.

    I saw soooo many receivers NOT catching the passes throw to them. I told myself MANY times I could've caught that pass easily.

    I'm thinking those balls MUST be rock hard or these Pros are just not practicing enough.

    Didn't you guys and gals see all the dropped or missed passes that should've been caught AND would've changed the outcome or at least changed the flow of the game into their favor?


    I'll bet the coaches are looking at those missed catches and wondering if they want that receiver on their team next year or NOT!

    You know how it goes John, the kicker gets the blame regardless. It is the most thankless job on a team. Hero or horrible....they don't have the luxury of anything in between.
