Do I need to replace the main drivers in my RT bookshelf speakers

I recently purchased a set of secondhand RT3 bookshelf speakers.
At Low volume they sound very muddy and are very hard to listen to ,they sound better with more volume. Do I need to replace the main drives ?

    The problem is likely the tweeters and/or the crossovers. When the tweeter isn't playing the speaker will sound very muddy.

    I have put my ear up to the tweeter and they are working ,sometimes it sounds muddy and sometimes it's not as bad

    Perhaps crossover or a bad connection. I had a pair of those where the internal wires came loose during shipping, so I would open them up and look at the crossover and make sure the connections are all secure.
