The Stars Have Really Lined Up

Hello,

A few weeks ago the stars came in line and I was able to swing a Denon 4400H

I've been doing a tad bit of woodwork, everyone has been thanking me with Amazon cards. Last weekend The wife and I went to the local casino for a promotion and I hit a nice slot. My wife saw it so I had to give her most of it. You know the "we got bills" thing. Before we left she was not around to see the 2nd hit of the night... hehehe. Wednesday morning I was just having my coffee thinking about what I was going to do with my Amazon cards. Oh wait gee daaa Amazon sells Emotiva. I check my fun money account and the gift card balance. Oh my I have just enough for this and it's in stock.

XPA-3 new in box.

I was looking at the used market, not much there in the 3 channel zone. I've watched the new Sicario and listened to a few CD's. I didn't want to turn it off but @ 1a.m. I think I should before my wife calls the cops. It's not a Parasound but I could afford it, Sound an depth is amazing. Yes better than the BasX-A300.

I think I am good for now, I think I said that a few weeks ago too.

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

    oh yeah :)

The BasX-A300 is not a bad amp and for the money it's great. I'm having a hard time thinking of selling it. I did just use the Amazon funds that I was going to save for Christmas so I should sell it.

When nobody was home for a bit last night I did turn it up a bit. Nice clean and clear.
Odd thing was, after Audyssey. I put on a disc and had a 'what the' moment. It sounded thin and lacking. Went through the normal config change to small and 80hz crossover. System said hello there. Playing Peter Gabriel "SO" and it was like he was in the room.

I will need to run Audyssey again when it's quiet out. kept having to repeat test due to leaf blowers and barking dogs. Typical Saturday in the neighborhood.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I like using a Dado joint. My wife overloads shelves so they are needed. Also make it easy to square.

Two years ago I had RTi8 with a Sony ES receiver. I set in a goal to upgrade my HT. Thing's have fallen in line nicely.

When one of the local casinos have a promotion we go to take advantage of it. Toss in free play and we are all over it. Jamul Casino was giving us a ton of free play. We took home some nice cash from it. One of the employees showed us the trick to it. Put players card in, take the free play as soon as points start earning cash out. For some reason they are not giving us free play any more. Guess that is what happens when being deep in the black.

One other reason I need to sell the BasX-A300, I need to get a good set of RCA cables for my XPA.

Don't laugh but I totally overlooked my cable needs. I am currently using the R/B/G monster looking cables that came with my cable box . It actually sounds darn good.

Looking at Signal Cable or maybe BJC. I'll call both tomorrow and see how much a set of 3 will run me.

A friend came over this evening, I had the Cars playing. He turned it up and asked what did I change, I pointed to the amp. He said he never knew they used tambourine in there. My system is freaking clear now it's unreal.

    Thanks Skip.

Hope you have something on my limited budget. I did just blow my funds on the XPA.

I'm looking in the $100 range, Signal Cable analog two looks good as well as the SVS offering. BJC, I've had two sub cables go bad on me so they are a no.

Instruments, imaging. Even recording environment dynamics. Having our system reveal nuances we didn’t hear before a change makes those changes so addicting.

    Still $180 for the 3 I need.

If Skip can swing it later this month great. He does run a business so I do understand if he can't come in my budget.

System sounds great even with using the monster looking R/B/G cables that came with my first HDTV box 15 years ago.

Was playing some Heart, there are a few tracks I had to go back and listen again after dinner.

Well I couldn't wait for Skips offer on the better cables.

I narrowed it down to BJC Signal Cables Analog 2 and SVS Sound Path. I looked at every review I could find on them. I couldn't find a negative review on the SVS cables. I received them from amazon today and had them hooked up in 10 minutes.

After a 6 point Audyssey run I put on a disc.. oh WOW HELLO! The old generic monster looking things SUCK! Sound improvement is great and the mid-bass stands out now perfectly.

Yes I build my own stands, hard to find something that will fit a big center speaker. If you're in SoCal I can build you one for cost of material. My current stand cost me around $200 to make

If you're not in the area the check with local high school/JC wood shops or ask a cabinet maker.
