My apologies if this is a little abstruse -- I love this kind of stuff :)

This was on Car Talk a while back. Really funny, and all this talk about evil cats made me think of it.

Cats get a bad rap. Our cats love us. Especially when we summon the black powers and sacrifice a goat.

They're 8 now, but when we first got them:

I'm never quite sure how our cats (only 1 now) have felt about us. I reckon they wish to keep it that way.

We briefly had three under our roof some years back -- one was our son's girlfriend's cat, which lived with us for a couple of years while she was in a (college) housing situation that didn't permit pets. :P

PS I am pleased to report that the rather homely sofa in that photo did not make the move from MA to NH with us. :|

My little buddy, Jasper the hybrid. He loves to play, follows us around like a dog, gets involved in everything, can be very agressive, but he likes snuggling and listening to tunes when he's tired.

hah! Thought you could derail us with pretty pictures of trees and waterfalls and rocks and whatnot, eh?

    :)

OK, brief regurgitation of the kitteh leitmotif, then I'll stop, I promise! :|

One of my favorite troubleshooting tools for hifi work, as many of you know, is the CAT scan. This approach is especially valuable in loudspeaker repair.

Here, for example, a CAT scan is used to diagnose a degraded woofer surround on a Pioneer HPM-1100 loudspeaker system.

in situ diagnosis by CAT scan:

CAT scans are also useful in vintage radio work.

Finally, finally, finally... when I first brought home a gorgeous pair of Altec 604E Duplexes, I carefully protected the pair by covering them with a soft, clean towel as a hedge against unplanned CAT scans (a referral, of course, is required for all diagnostic tests!). The Duplexes were carefully placed on my workbench while their cabinets were being built.

Well... a couple of days later, I happened to be downstairs, only to discover than an unauthorized CAT scan had apparently been ordered.
