I live in Columbus and it is for sure the up and comer. It is gaining population while Cleveland and Cincy lose. Cincinnati has gone through a renaissance the last 20 years though. Cincinnati is old money, whereas Columbus is flush with new money.

I have seen a lot of new medical facilities sprouting all up around Cincinnati. Especially on the I71 corridor. Also a lot of expansion of existing facilities going on as well.

2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

Well if you have the choice, choose Columbus over Cincinnati. I am obviously biased living in a nice community just outside Cbus city limits. Columbus is the fastest growing city in the Midwest, lots of employment opportunities, can still get a really nice home for fewer dollars than many other places, average age is in the low to mid thirties, and it’s a very clean hip city. We have a lot of breweries, great music and art scene not to mention a great university.

Cinci is cool though, it’s a little hillbilly being it borders Kentucky, but that city has some great history and it’s quite beautiful along the river. It’s about 90 minutes from the southwest side of Cbus we head down there a couple times a year for something, Kings Island, a Browns/Bengals game, or the Zoo there. They do have a beautiful Zoo for your little one.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. Only problem with Columbus is I believe now it’s further from Chicago. Cinci is only 5h away.

This is true. From downtown Columbus to Chicago is 5.5 hrs. 6hrs from my house.

One benefit of Columbus is no need to go to a different State to get on a plane for travel. Columbus has a really good mid-sized airport on the east side.

I was born and raised in Cincy. Don't live there anymore, but always look forward to visiting family there. We have two local favorites that you have to check out if visiting Cincinnati. Graeter's Ice Cream (arguably the best in the country) and Skyline Chili.

Oh, That reminds me. Before you leave Dallas make sure you google what cheese curds are and practice not looking disgusted when you see gravy on french fries.

And hopefully you will still know people in Dallas that can send you some brisket every now and then.

@Joey_V, St. Louis didn't make your list?

Barnes Jewish Hospital is excellent. Very prestigious medical center assoc. w/ Washington University. Winter is mild compared to Chicago. Summers = more humid than Chicago. A lot of culture here and kid friendly museums too. Forrest Park. Arboretum. Decent food (not Imo's pizza - avoid at ALL costs).

Some nice brick & mortar stereo shops out here too. Cost of living is le$$ than Chicago.

Regardless of where you decide to make your next home, good luck in your search!

Granted...Ben and Jerry's is very good. Think of a Parasound Halo JC 5 amp. But Graeter's, purchased in a Graeter's Ice Cream Store, is exquisite. Think Boulder 3060 amp.

Some grocery stores carry it. We can occasionally find it in grocery stores here in Central PA and also sometimes at our vacation home in Grand Junction, Colorado. I believe their web site shows locations to buy.

Its a great town and the suburbs are beautiful. Cost of living is very reasonable. Nice thing is you are about a 4 or 5 hour drive from an eclectic mix of good sized cities as well.

Best ice cream in the U.S. is Ono Gelato in Lahaina Maui Hawaii. They let you sample them too and have 30-40 favors on hand at any given time. And the location is nicer than Cincinatti

    IMHO YMMV
