FS: Peachtree Audio novaPre Tube Hybrid preamp w/DAC

A digital user's dream...plus an analog input, and a tube. This unit has 4 digital inputs: USB, (2) SPDIF Coax, and Optical. It has an analog (Aux) RCA red/white input as well for your turntable preamp <3 There are two pre-outs: one at 50ohms (discrete class A), and one at 15 ohms; it can be used with two separate power amps.

The hybrid tube feature is kinda cool. You can toggle back-and-forth between pure solid state, and a single tube in the output section. There's a little window on the faceplate where you can see the glow of the tube. The difference with and without the tube is subtle, but there is a difference. The option is yours.

The DAC is a 24bit Sabre DAC, with 24/192 USB capability. I have used a Logitech SqueezeBox Touch with this pre-amp via digi-coax, and it sounds great. I think using the Peachtree's internal DAC is the way to go when given the option. Send your digital device's output signal to this preamp, and let it do the work.

Cosmetically, this unit is very clean.

ONLY blemish is this scratch:

This comes with a remote (including batteries!) and the white glove treatment :D

Seriously, factory packaging includes those white gloves, plus special packaging in a bag.

Original packaging all around, with double-boxing, and I will place it all inside yet another box for effectively triple-boxed transit.

I think this is a compliment, folks, based on the fact that Mikey has a piece of Peachtree gear himself B) Mikey, this would be a good upcoming birthday present for you to purchase for yourself :)

Is this one 15" wide and about 12" deep? Interested, but may be too big for my work desk.

Yeah, that's roughly the size...slightly smaller, but just fractions of an inch.

Yes. Digital and analog. I don't like to limit my sources because some tracks/albums sound better on different recordings/formats.

The only album I own that I cannot play is a DVD-A of Fleetwood Mac's Rumors which, unfortunately, is even better that the 180g 45RPM LP I have that may even be from Mo-Fi.

Yeah...I had thought about adding a vintage tuner, but not enough analog inputs for that.

Can you not use your network to tap into I heart radio or online radio stations that broadcast stations worldwide? I did that once to tap into a radio station in Greensboro NC. (Standard tuners could not pick up a signal that far).

For the most part, yes, but I love the feel of a vintage manual gyro-tuning knob. There...I've said it...I'm out and proud :D

Coming out of the closet is the first step. Congratulations.

Just kidding. I hear ya'. One of these days....I too, would like to build up a silver faced vintage system for the garage....and it will include a tuner as well. One with a knob that is so heavy, one can go from one side of the dial to the next times ten....just for fun. And buttons.....buttons galore just to contradict everything I believe in with a KISS audiophile system. Maybe even an EQ. LOL
