    It was a sad time. Like a lot of moments in history people tend to remember where they were when they heard the news of Jerry's death. I was in the Toledo, Ohio airport eating breakfast waiting for my flight as I read the newspaper and on the front page of the Toledo Blade it read something like "Jerry Garcia Dead At 53".

    Yeah time does fly. It sure doesn't seem like 22 years ago.

    And it sure is hard to believe that I am now older than Jerry was when he died!

    Unbelievable.

    I was lucky in that I got to see Stevie Ray Vaughan several times before he died too. My brother in-law's band opened up for him along with the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

    Yeah the Dead continued to tour for 20 years after Jerry's death with the remaining band members and several guests.

    Fittingly, the Dead performed their final show on July 5, 2015 right back in Soldier Field Chicago in front of 71,000+ fans breaking the all-time record set by U2.

    No other band did it like the Dead or had such a loyal fan base. A cult-like following.

    There are literally thousands of Grateful Dead bootleg recordings out there. Unlike most bands, the Dead never really tried to prevent them and allowed tapers to plug right into the soundboards. Most of the soundboards and many of the audience recordings are superb.

    Studio albums are worth having but they never capture the real thing like live recordings do for bands like the Dead.

    Yep, that's the beauty of the good boots. They are archives of the real-thing. Some are better than others both technically and the actual band performances too. Some of the Zeppelin boots Robert Plant's voice is shot. They are still worthy though but Led Zeppelin played a lot of 3 hr. shows in a short period of time. Plus they were all on drugs too.

    This particular bootleg is superb both technically and performance-wise. The sound is fantastic. Almost like going back in time and watching them in 1975.

    Another one gone, sad that he could not get more help or reach out more. Hanged himself at the end of the Soundgarden concert in Detroit. RIP.... Mr Chris Cornell... Hell of a frontman for Soundgarden.

    Loved his work on this project. One of my fave albums from the 90's.

    Album of the Year 2011 Grammy

    To me the vinyl edition is all over the board for sounding bad to great. Record 1 Side 1 has distortion and Side 2 sounds thrill but okay. Record 2 Side 1 okay Side 2 amazing. Really weird. I'd stick to the CD or a download or maybe it's just my copy.
    I bought this on release day and just listened to it now. Haha warranty all run out. :)

    Amazing album for songs though.

    The 6 CD version is up at Spotify. I used to have the original on cassette tape. The remastering seems to be good -they have not pumped up and over-bloated the bass and the recording has pretty good dynamics.
