Ok I am probably an idiot how do I add album artwork to my files in foobar2000? I like how the program works and sounds but it looks so basic and blah. Is there a foobar2000 for dummies website?

Steve, not sure of a quick way in Foobar, but I think there are a bunch of programs out there you can use for this. It can be done outside of Foobar just for the cover art, and you can keep using Foobar for everything else, if that's what you prefer.
Here's an example. I haven't tried this one, but could be an option for you. https://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/

This is another one I heard about through THJ and WMG

Speaking to your note re: Foobar being no frills, I've been using Music Monkey lately, in general. I like it a lot. Got a lot of functionality built in, and customizable. Bit of a learning curve, but worth it, I think.

Until I realized that my existing program added album artwork from the start, as I wasn't clicking on that option, and several thousand albums later, I bought the muvundercover program that I learned about here, and it worked well. Now I just add the artwork at the same time I'm adding albums and everything is good.

I figured it out no downloading pictures necessary, all you got to do is click the view menu, select layout , quick setup, visulation cover art quick appearance setup window then click OK. Wala picture art, media data and some graph bar two lines saying flac 841kbps. I'm a happy camper tunes and no fussing about digging this foobar2000 player. Time for some tunes.

Steve, is that for ripping? I just use it for a player and never much explored its capabilities.

Steve, is this just for new rips, or does it also pull down art for an existing library?

After thinking I was clever with my 256kbps VBR mp3s for so many years, I have to admit, it's been really nice enjoying .flac recently as I get into it as well. Not just seeing the higher bit rate and .flac, but obviously, the sq improvement. I have to shake my head at myself for not doing this sooner. Plus, it's fun.
