the distribution you're describing applies if, and only if, in a building w/very long wire runs w/speakers everywhere for say a paging system or Muzak. The 75V (step-up) transformer discussion parallels why the power company uses STEP-DOWN transformers before the juice enters your house. Go to Mackie.com. Long wire runs X low(er) voltage* = very low or NO output at the speakers furthest from the amp.
* w/out step-up transformer.
A concert hall or arena system is little more than a (MUCH BIGGER, more complex, & louder tri or quad amped) 2 channel system. They have 8, 4, or, unlikely if the speakers are further than ~30', 2 ohms as the final load impedance. Otherwise the amps wouldn't have 8*, 4*, &, 2 ohm ratings* like some home* gear.
Kenwstr: you're spot-on w/your church's "bass" fix assessment. Going bigger (12 or 10ga) w/large surface contact connections may yield greater improvement. All in good time.

Yup! Further, engineer=compromiser. Short of paying a king's ransom,, they hafta give up something to get something done, in some cases a price point. Another is fidelity versus raw power.Another important factor to consider with home and pro is the noise floor. A louder noise floor is acceptable in pro audio - in home audio, it is where the war of fidelity is fought.
This is akin to engineers vs. mathematicians. Both have different parameters and neither are wrong, but their approaches are vastly different.
