And he has a wife and a 4 year old son... What do you tell a boy about this? I get that he is a daredevil, but some dares should not be taken when you have a child to raise. I wish him luck, but what a stupid selfish thing to do to your family.

I get where he's coming from in trying to do this without the chute on - it's the ultimate risk without, and simply wouldn't carry the same risk, otherwise. However, I
do agree, it's horribly, terribly irresponsible for a man in his position. Shaking my head to this, and a few words of French.

And so what if he makes it. It won't end there. One time won't be enough. Others will then do the same, and the race will be on for the record to the most no-parachute jumps.

If he doesn't do it now that the word is out, others will. Too late to back out now. Shame on the network for promoting something like this. This is the world we live in. You think people will be watching to see him make it, or hoping something goes wrong?

The ultimate in bravery, imho? For him to swallow his pride and back out now in consideration of his family.

Once he figures out he's not going to make it I don't think a parachute is going to help much.

True. There is a point of no return, but at least you have an option. Of course, if your intent is to commit suicide then this is a great way to do it.

He's probably already done this with a parachute and hit the net. So going in he knows the net will holdup and he knows he can hit it at that altitude. Still anything could go wrong!
