    I get where he's coming from in trying to do this without the chute on - it's the ultimate risk without, and simply wouldn't carry the same risk, otherwise. However, I
    do agree, it's horribly, terribly irresponsible for a man in his position. Shaking my head to this, and a few words of French.

    And so what if he makes it. It won't end there. One time won't be enough. Others will then do the same, and the race will be on for the record to the most no-parachute jumps.

    If he doesn't do it now that the word is out, others will. Too late to back out now. Shame on the network for promoting something like this. This is the world we live in. You think people will be watching to see him make it, or hoping something goes wrong?

    The ultimate in bravery, imho? For him to swallow his pride and back out now in consideration of his family.

    True. There is a point of no return, but at least you have an option. Of course, if your intent is to commit suicide then this is a great way to do it.
