Those crs's look sweet for 50 bones. Maybe I'm uninformed but I thought they were wrapped in vinyl not wood veneer. Can someone please set me straight on this. I'd really like to know.
I have a pair of Monitors 10 that I recently did a upgraded crossover with caps and resistors and enjoy them a lot. I read the post here about the SDA-1 speakers and it makes me wonder what I am missing?
There are two pair for sale in northern California where I live. Both are listed as SDA-1 but one pair has two small holes (one inch or so) between the tweeters and drivers. Both have four drivers, two tweeters and a large driver (passive or active?) at the bottom. Is the bottom driver passive or in fact a driver? One pair is listed for $300 the other for $400. both have the connecting cable.
So what are the desirable SDA speakers, I have seen pictures with many variations of number of drivers, some passive woofers and some active woofers.
The earliest version of 1A's had the dual port holes. The second version of those did away with those ports. I would say that $300 is a fair price if they are fully working and in good condition. $400 is a little high. If they were the later 1C models with the ability to be used with monoblocks, they could bring closer to $500 in good condition.
HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
I asked on them last night. The rear cable interconnect has been modified with speaker terminals and not the best job. One driver has tears and passive have new wood screws. A bit of a what could be expected but then again, it could be worth it.
Yes I know they are not speakers but this might interest somebody. Multiple sheets of BH-5. This was coincidentally the same guy I got mine from in central Jersey. He's had these for a long time so there might be wiggle room. Just sayin.
No affiliation.
Polk SDA II with a bunch of stuff. I hate two things about this post. Stacking a bunch of junk on top of good speakers. Also best offer gets a reply! F to the B. Peace. D

Not sure what's wrong with them as the ad does not say, but only asking $250... that might be worth a road trip for someone to Washington.
I wish we could find these type of deals down south.
