Does anyone run 3 subs?

I am thinking about it since I have a lot more space due to doors having to be left open to the rest of the house. Besides I found space for another lol.
I’m thinking you’ve reached the point where people are afraid to open your posts.

I have a badass M&K THX certified Sub actually I have 2 of them and I ran one of them with my ST's. I felt when I turned off the ST's and just ran them full range I had a tad better performance but when all 3 where on I felt that I wasn't gaining anything.
More subs are for better coverage if you have coverage issues. In very large rooms 3 or 4 would work great but the room would have to be huge.
I usually spec on my jobs 2 always no matter what as I feel 2 always work together better then just one. I can get one to work well but not cover the room with all the seating perfectly like 2 does.
In some rare rooms I have used 4 and the room required it.
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.
Multiple subs are for fixing modal issues. Without them you have big nulls and peaks, especially when you change positions. Get four subs and put them in each corner or wall midpoint and seat to seat response is as good as it is going to get. Read up on some of Dr. Floyd E. Toole's writings and ramblings on this subject. Also play around with REW's room simulator and you can visually see how everything interacts.
