But that is where the money is! When I buy vintage amps I look to the transformers as the measure of value. Of course a mullard 5AR4 counts too.
Eh dont disagree, however you also cannot see the scale of the amp either. I have a buddy with a baldwin that is about 3 feet long, and while in a pic the OT looks small, once taken in scale its rather large.

I gave them a good listening last night wand came away very impressed. I have long held that in speaker design the brute force method of size and weight usually wins out over design and engineering just like mass has the advantage in a car crash. If that held to speakers, it a cubed weight ratio advantage.
Thats a bit of silliness but there is a thread of truth. But, times change and engineering and materials progress. These are marvelous. And perfect for the smallish room size. Anyone want some Martin Short Signifiers?

I have heard those before, Tony. While they not be "my" particular type of sound, they are a full range-well rounded speaker. I don't think many folks would be displeased with the sound they produce and you are right, no brainer for the price.

I was researching this table when looking to buy and I almost went with it. this is a STEAL. Millers Reasearch reported this table with .03% combined wow and flutter. If that's true it's world class. Rumble spec is also great on this. 10" tonearm! I think he is selling with cart?

I saw that on SlickDeals earlier today. They were asking how they compared to Monitor 50/60s. Great deal however for cheap/good speakers. Too bad I have no use for cheap speakers and no where to put them. I'd totally buy them if I had a spare man cave just so I could try them out to see what the hype is. It's like this generations RT25 in audio value or something.Main Surround -

Hello Polk fans! I'm a Klipsch fan looking to take the leap to Polk. Being this time of year I'm really keeping my eyes open for deals and sales on Polk equipment. It's difficult to keep up and could use some help and heads up for the best deals coming for the holiday. I figured this may be a great place to start. Looking forward to spending time in here and following along. Torn between bookshelf choices and a hefty center. Moving up from Klipsch Icon Wood series and am open ears for suggestions from those here with experience in Polk. At this time the RtiA series has my interest. Thanks in advance for any and all replies...

Welcome to the Polk Forum!
There are some good deals that happens time to time at authorized resellers. You can also keep an eye at the eBay Polk Store. And of course, you can look at the classified section at this forum or other forums for really nice second hand units. Craigslist is another option, but you know that you can have a good deal at CL or a big headache.
To stay on topic, have you considered the RTi series? That is the previous series of the RTi A. The cabinet (box) is different, but the components are the same. Currently Fry's Electronics have the RTi 12 at $299.99 each (previous model of the RTi A9):

Just click on "Special Price" to actually see the $299.99 price.
