Silver Apples are an American psychedelic electronic music duo from New York, comprising Simeon (born Simeon Oliver Coxe III, 4 June 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee), who performs on a primitive synthesizer of his own devising (also named The Simeon); and, until his death in 2005, drummer Danny Taylor. The group was active between 1967 and 1969, before reforming in the mid-1990s. They were one of the first groups to employ electronic music techniques extensively within a rock idiom, and their minimalistic style, with its pulsing, driving beat and frequently discordant modality, anticipated not only the experimental electronic music and krautrock of the 1970s, but also underground dance music and indie rock of the 1990s.
Contact is the second album by Silver Apples. The cover and inner artwork generated a lawsuit from Pan Am Airlines. The cover features the Silver Apples in a plane cockpit with drug paraphernalia and the inner artwork showed the band amongst plane wreckage playing banjos. The resulting lawsuit by Pan Am against Silver Apples and Kapp Records led to the breakup of the band.

Hey Rich! Wow, after watching that clip I may go missing indefinitely. ;-)

Things are great here. Fired-up the Lightstar/Isis system today for the first time in ages and had an enjoyable day of listening. How is your Innersound system sounding?

LOL....Guess I have varied tastes. How about this then? Ted liked it when he was here. Four real percussionists, no electronic drums...

So you still have the Isis! I changed some gear around but the Innersounds are still good for me.

Loved it and the video tour of your gear. Did a double take when you panned past the LP rack and there was the Cake album. :-)

Yeah, the Isis are so open and transparent. Today convinced me I should listen to them more (they're upstairs in a game/media room). Also got some listening time in with the ST-70 and some RTA 8Ts today. Still love that combo, even driven with a digital source.

Better steer this back to the thread:

Patrick Moraz first toured as a solo performer opening for major jazz artists throughout Europe in the mid-1960s. He then formed the group Mainhorse with Jean Ristori in 1968, which released a self-titled album on Polydor.
