So whats your favorite speaker cables you have tried so far?
What has been your best "bang for buck" speaker cables?

The vast majority of people don't care too much for the Nordost speaker cables, but they seem to work best in my system (synergy?) and are some of my fav's in my system at least.
I have the Red Dawns, and Flatlines.

"Bang for buck" would have to be the River Cable Flexygy 6 or 8's, both bring alot to the table @ their used prices are a crazy good speaker cable for the money.

I have AQ Midnight, and XLO Pro 600 for comparision, but have had a many come and go in the past, both cheap, and expensive (I lean toward the cheaper SC's, and put my money in the IC's:mrgreen:).

Whats your favorite SC?
Best "Bang for buck"?

    Best: MIT Shotgun S3's.

B4B: Hmmmm. I would say for the discount price of $11/ft. the Alpha Core Goertz Python MI2 (from Sonic Craft). Not a "cheap" cable but best B4B (IMO).

I really enjoyed my PNF Symphonys for several years. Great overall sound. I just swapped them out for a set of Morrow Audio SP4s. I am enjoying more detail, better soundstage, and timing. :)

I've used DH Labs Q10 for many years

I changed the connectors a few years back, sent them to DH and they changed one end from spades to banana plugs

    http://www.jwaudio.net/Cryo-Nova-Speaker-Cables.html

I don't think the "cryo" aspect is worth the space it takes up :-) and magnet wire like this is available inexpensively from www.allelectronics.com but I've gotta say that they do "sound good" (whatever that means in the context of a completely passive component).

They are firmly ensconced in my 'real' hifi (you can sort of see 'em in the photo - they're not too layout-friendly, being quite stiff).

I find it interesting that people such as yourself always think cables believers are buying cables because of how they look. I agree that speaker wire is speaker wire, or you get what you pay for. It's just that some speaker wire has much better audio aspects than others. Things such as dynamics, soundstage, clarity, detail are what's important and are what higher end cable buyers are paying for; it's not for their looks (at least I can say for me it's not for looks).

Yes, that is cool isn't it.

It obvioulsy does make us happy. Why did you bring up the old "cable is cable" idea if you don't want to beat it to death? Are you trying to save others from "wasting their money"? Or simply just stating your opinion?
