HELP! Going to order something tomorrow.. either Old LSi or New LSIM.. cant decide!

Thanks... yeah I've thought of that. Would be like $3280ish.. Though i'd having to spend another 100-250 on stands that I've looked at and liked. Though I could go with a 3rd set of 703s for 7.1 for under the price i'll be buying the 705s and the rest. hmmm

Never used Bookshelfs for fronts before and kind of afraid my 4 year old son and 8 year old daughter my knock it over. Sure they would sound just fine but the tower is more sexy! haha.

I know the new line will prob impress more but look at where i'm coming from? I've always been wanting the LSi since I first heard them 10 years ago but couldn't even touch the price at that time. Know I would love the sound and frankly I love the look of the older line more.. i'm sure I would love the look of the new LSim in person though haha.

Understand fully.. though I currently don't have the proper power for the new or old lines but prob could get out of the start gate with the new line and my current receiver for 5.1.

Update:

They had another set of 703s! Price for 706c is $911+ tax.

So i'm starring at a total of:

$4750.58 for 705s,703s and 706c

$3399.16 for 2 sets of 703s and 706c


Guts telling me go 703s... hearts telling me i'll be another one of those guys a little while from now selling a pair of 703s to pay for a new set of 705s. %$!#**** ME!

Yeah, that's what I told her.. Have the money now but might not later on.. so best to grab it while I can.

Would'nt mind the 703s for fronts, its just that I know me.. and i'll always be feeling "what am I missing from the 705s???" and that will bug the crap out of me.

Well going to order the 705s,703 and 706c as soon as I get my total.

Next topic that i'll be wanted to figure out is what a good amp to power them all to go with? Emotiva XPA-5 not a good enough match?

Just the old sub in my signature. Plenty for our room though but doubt will match the sound quality of the 705.

I guess i'll get to compare the 705/703 when they show up at my door step hehe.

Order it and i'm now all set! Now the excitement is here! Damn headache to go along with it after all that thinking though.

I got screwed!

Speakers were coming yesterday pre the tracking.. Never happened. Wake up today and check the tracking and it says N/A.

Call right away and after 3 people find out its not coming cause no one took down my phone number to schedual a delivery. I asked if I can pick it up and that's what i'm trying to do now.

Thanks Polk Direct.. she did remember the 2nd time to ask for my phone number when she was sending out the 2nd 705.

One would think FedEx wouldn't even take the packages from Polk without a phone number since they will need it.

Just got off the phone with fedex and i'm heading out in 30 mins to grab them!

All good! Having speakers delivered to your door is for wimps! haha

Kinda got lucky in a way that one of the 2 705s were not shipped with the order as the 4 speakers just fit in our Dodge Journey.

As bad as those boxes look, they were all perfect! haha. Currently have the 703s stacked on my 10 year old Polk RTi70s and the single 705 standing next to the right front to test them all out.

Right away as soon as I plugged a 703 in on the RTi70 it sounds crisp and clear! If i'm wowed the sec I hear them and I was perfectly happy with the sound from my old RTi70s, i'm in for a tweat once these break in and I get an external amp later on.


Took prob 100 pics.. all kinda suck cause of the direct sun light in the living room at the time. Will post those up in an hour or 2.

Oh and that 705! Thank god I got them! Was a bish getting it out of the box all by myself. But when I pulled the cover off of it the first words out of my mouth was, "Holy ****!!!" That speaker looks mean in person and I think it could kick some serious ****! lol

Picks coming and i'm prob gona need 2-3 posts to get them up so no comments till i'm done please hehe.

After seeing those boxes.. only 1 out of the 4 was pretty good. The 706c was the worst but where it was crushed in, thank god it was only the back side of the speaker where it was hollow. The one 703 box was pretty bad as you can see.. and the 705 I was bracing for damage but had slim hopes since I knew it was packed well. Was scared at first when I seen that damage to the middle seem that went threw to the inside of the box.. And then seen the end foam was cracked.. thought it was dropped forsure but its all good!


Will take way better pics with my good camera when I get the other 705 and in the evening this time.

Oh forgot to mention.. in the pics I don't have the new 706c on top of the tv yet.. Gona see if my shelf will hold the triple weight haha.
