Congrats man! You made the right decision with the M's. I started to work on my home theater again today and messed with placement of my M's. In the right sized room, you will not really need an external amp. When I relocated into a larger dedicated home theater room, an external amp did wonders.

They will sound better since they will have the power to operate to their full potential. The biggest surprise was how clear and detailed the music was at all volumes from soft to loud.

Wife picked them as shes into black and white and don't even want to see the speakers so black/dark wouldn't stick out as much to her. :) Oh they stick out alright! HUGE and curvy and sexy!

I didn't like the look at first online a month ago.. I was hard up for the older set but seeing others picks of them helped a lot over polks fake/altered photos. They even look louds better to me in person! So huge and mean looking! Would love to run them all the time without the grills but of course the wife don't like the look with them off.

Had my last Polk set for 10 years and i'm sure i'll be enjoying these as long if not longer!

What should one use to shine these up and remove all the grease from my hands? A damp cloth worked best on my old speakers but I doubt I want to use that on the face of these? Dry cloth or something special?

Why not start simple and try a microfiber cloth, I know they work great on glasses and tablet screens to remove finger prints, so it should work well on speakers.

Microfiber towels at lowes worked perfectly! Went with 2 different kinds of Quickie brand towels.. one made for wood and another made for windows to use on the face for the hell of it. haha. Works awesomely. Will shine them up weekly.

Found out today from the tracking I just got that the other 705 is coming Thursday. Hopefully sooner one would think as its already in Chicago. When they call to set up the shipment date, if they say it will be the next day or 2 i'll ask to go pick it up like I did with the others hehe. Hopefully I get a phone call tomorrow early about it as I will be out that way and can just go grab it.

Anyways, currently I have the 705 now on the left side and the 706c up top after strengthening the shelf to support it and the 703 standing on the old Rti70 on the right side.

Sound is freakin amazing in 2 channel! The bass is almost over powering and that's a huge plus as I don't plan on using a sub if I don't need it. The oval woofers are awesome for music and loud!

    The wait is killing me!

20 mins ago I seen a small fedex ground truck drive past my house and thought i'd be smart and stand at the garage to tell him I want it here so he wouldn't drag it up to the front door.. I stood there and watched him dry around to other condos for 10 mins and here he flys by by my house and drives away! Standing there in the cold for nothing.

Still nothing and got to pick my daughter up at the bus stop in 20 mins. Prob will show up then and miss him.

The last 705 showed up around 4pm. Box was different as it had white thick cardboard on the box edges for extra protection. Is that cause it came from Cal and not Nashville or something new? Who knows but the speaker was mint even though the box did have some large punctures/tears in the sides. At first I thought it was a returned speaker but not so hehe.

Cant wait till morning when I get to tweak the speaker positions and get that final calibration in with Audessy.

Will be sure to take quite a few quality pics this time and update the thread one last time!

Oh, I had to screw the 703s on the wall mounts. :( Sucked bad but better safe then sorry since I have a 4 year old son that plays under where those speakers are. Can always buy a another speaker but one cant replace there kids. Screwed in on the bottom so it was ok since i'll never see it even if I move them to stands later on in the new house.

Heres an update with them all setup finally.

Impossible to get a picture of the gain without real bright light on the wood like a flash light. Wood looks purple then hehe.
Real tuff to get a good pic of these period as the light and flash reflect off them so well but I did my best.

The left surround picture.. I used the original wire path in the wall that was lower for the older speaker and different layout. May get to clean that up and move the wire if were still here after this summer. Hopefully we will find a house shortly after looking for 3 years!

Dropped the PSW 404 sub and rear surround channel and now just running I guess 5 channels for now.

I hope you will enjoy your new LSiM system setup, which I heard will be upgraded in a few years with the 707s.
I was also contemplating whether to get a pair of LSi25s or the new LSiM 707s to replace my Bookshelf system, two pairs of LSi9s for the Front and the Rear Surround, a pair of LSiFX for the Side Surround, and the LSiC, and two Velodyne DLS-5000R Subwoofers.
Did not want my 11 months-old daughter to knock off the front speaker stands and see something bad happen; this was used as the main reason to convince my wife, which is somewhat true......the rear surround speaker stands with another pair of LSi9s are behind the sofa and chairs; so it is more difficult to get to those areas......so it will be hard to convince my wife for a tower speaker replacement for those pair......
Anyway, cost of the pair being a major issue, $4000 for the new LSiM 707s vs. a now-a-mere $1300 for the LSi 25s, and also because the rest of my system is composed all of the LSis and I cannot possibly replace all the speakers to the LSiMs, I got myself a pair of new LSi25s from Amazon.com, Cherry Color, 1 week ago. I only calibrated the system 2 days ago and I like the pair so far; waiting to break in the pair, as I had had the LSi9s for the past 3 years.
I used the line-ins for the Subwoofer section of the LSi25s from my pre-amp, Marantz AV8801, which I love by the way, the pre-amp.
Set all my LPFs and HPFs to 80 Hz.
I am sure the new LSiMs are worth their 3x costs compared to their old sibling, but I am also happy that I have finally got myself a Floorstanding LSi 25s that were $3000/pair when I was shopping for my LSi system.
Anyway, I am now finally a LSi25 owner myself; and I am happy of its look and of its soon-to-find-out performance!

    Congrats on the new LSis!

I know the feeling with young ones.. Was happy that my youngest just turned 4 and realized I could finally get away with upgrading the setup now!

I wanted those old LSi pretty bad! :) Back and forth between that and the 15s for weeks. Basicly the whole reason I didn't just go for it was the layout I have with the corner shot position. The side firing woofers would be right next to windows so it prob would sound too boomy for me.

It really hurt to see a brand new "Last" set of LSi 9 "Cherry" that Polk Direct told me they had and I was too late saying i'll take it 2 days later they sold it.

That and the fact that it was hard to find a LSiC speaker had the thoughts of powering dual LSi7/LSi9s for a center speaker added to the cost as I would have to run dual channels just for the center channel. Still would of been way cheaper in the end though.

Now I see a brand new LSiC on ebay ;)

Would love to get a house and find a spot for a set of LSi15/25s for stereo listening. If that happends I hope they still have new pairs on Polk Direct.

Yes, I read your earlier posting and know that the LSi series being a 4-ohms being one of the factors in your case.
How were you going to use a dual LSi7 or LSi9 as the center speaker? Would you have used a splitter from the Center Output from the Receiver? I am just curious; not that it would matter to either of us at this point.

My Amplifier is my faithful Outlaw Model 7700 7-Ch. 300 wpc simultaneously driven with a THD of 0.03%; I thought of getting an Emotiva instead at the time of purchase, also 3 years ago, but the Emotiva amplifier models that I wanted at the time was out of stock. I am glad that I had gotten the Outlaw instead because of that circumstance, because the reason that I wanted Emotiva at the time, instead of Outlaw, after comparing the two companies amplifier specifications, I thought that Emotiva had a better, or higher wpc; but I only found out later that their Rated Power Bandwidths was just at 1kH, and were not the full 20Hz-20kHz as was the case for the Outlaw model; now the Emotiva's website changed the settings to the Full 20Hz-20kHz as well, but their THD is 0.1% vs. Outlaw's lower 0.03%; both with the same rated 300 wpc @4 ohms . Pricewise, you can get the Emotiva at somewhat lower price of $1700 vs. Outlaw's $2150.

Yeah a splitter from the center pre-out with one end going to each amp channel.

Nice amp! Outlaw is one of the brands i'm looking at. Nice that they have B stock for sale there was well.

Thanks for the info on the amps.. really wet behind the ears when it comes to amps and really don't know whats important spec wise other then watts which I've heard shouldn't be too much of a deciding factor.
