"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Listening to Maria Rita's Samba Meu. Drumming on it is so tasteful and expert. The guy on the kit can pull of intricate, quick-tempo samba (Num Corpo So) and slower, bossa novas (Trajetoria) -- the later of which may not be difficult to execute on a mechanical/physical level -- but to pull it off with taste and originality is damn-near impossible these days. And Maria's voice is sultry as hell.

Garbage at the Orpheum in Madison last night. Fantastic show. Homecoming of sorts for the band and a very appreciative crowd. Last time I saw them was on November 28, 1998, on the tour for Version 2.0. Shirley was great then, now she has total command of the stage, and her voice is still awesome. She is one tough cookie. The rest of the band are phenominal musicians and showmen also, but she's like a proverbial celtic goddess up there.
