    Probably my favorite live album...

    Fleetwood Mac - The Dance

The bongos in the background on "My Little Demon" makes for a good reference instrument when I made changes to my setup. But yet my other half can't hear them...

This is a great, intimate, live-in-studio recording. It's not an amazing recording, but I'll include it here anyway--it's definitely worth a listen.

    Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions.

Recorded in the Trinity Church in NYC in 1987 with a single mike over a long night. You want ambience, here it is.

The "return to Trinity' was 20 recorded years later, and is worth a listen. It has a DVD-A version in the disc set.

The "return' with 5.1 mastered DVD can be bought on Amazon for less than $15. Here:http://www.amazon.com/Trinity-Revisited-DVD-Cowboy-Junkies/dp/B0011XFOGU/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_8

"GRP live in Session" & GRP's "New York LA dream band" both clean & engaging. "GRP Super Live in Japan" not as clean but I find it quite enjoyable.

Probably already mentioned, but the SACD Jazz at the Pawnshop is superb, especially, for me, disk 2. I am not much of a jazz fan, but this disc is great. The subtle sweep of a brush against a symbol is etched in the air. There is even a xylophone, and it is so clear and defined in time and space it amazes me. And normally, I can't stand that type of instrument. Of course, guitars and trumpets are also perfect. This thread made me start listening to it again.

    Extraordinary recording!

Heard this one on vinyl back in the day. The low level detail was such that you could hear ice clanging in glasses, glasses getting set on tables, no mistaking the [acoustics of] small club ambiance.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
