Used to love the coffee break concerts at the Agora. I seen Michael Stanley there. And Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Bob Seagar, Mott The Hopple, The Tubes, Eric Burton and a few i'll remember later there. Great venue.

Swapped a cartridge out for a friend today on my old turntable. What to test with? How about some early Synthpop when Gary debuted under his own name after the release of Replicas under Tubeway Army. I always thought he was more synthrock at times.

I've been a bit under the weather so it was a good week to clean some old vinyl. My collection is a mix of past ownership including my Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle's old records from when they were much younger. I've been listening to the Animals, Iron Butterfly, the Doors, Freddie King (Leon Russel production) lots more.

But then I found an unopened still sealed looks old as dirt album. I almost dont want to open it! But of course I have to. I looked up the date and it's only from 1994, and with an awful review. But it looks cool anyway.

So in a minute I will be listening to "The Night of the Cookers, Live at Club La Marchal with Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, James Spaulding, Harold Mabern Jr, Larry Ridley, Pete La Roca Big Black, Volume 1 from Blue Note Records (finest in jazz since 1939 so it says),

Actually it's a kick a$$ record. Whoever gave a bad review needs to have that long overdue hemorrhoid surgery.
