Anyone have any good brands to go with? I know of Black Gate, but they aren't available any more. So, who else? I'm looking for 5-600 uf range.

I can recommend Panasonic FC series and Nichicon HE's,or UCC LXV;s.All are low impedance 105 c deg. rated.I assume with the values your looking for they are not for the main filter bank's or coupling purposes?

Panasonic FCs have a very good reputation as a all around good choice for audio use. If they have them in your pin pitch and size then it would be a winner.

    Marantz CD5004
    Adcom GFA-545

No, but I may upgrade the filter bank as well. The coupling caps are .22 uf Claritycap ESAs. I forget exactly what these caps do, but I do know they're not part of the filter bank, and basically provide "reserve power" to the power tubes. The guy that built them told me that he's learned that the tube rectification circuit can handle more capacitance that what he originally put in there (330 uf), and recommended I upgrade to something between 500 and 600 uf.

What would you benefit to up the capacitance? If the system was engineered for that amount I would upgrade if needed to the same rated capacitor.

Like I said, the guy told me he basically made a mistake and didn't put enough in there originally. He said the benefit would be a tighter bass response.

Ah so it,s vacuum state.:evil:in that case you can ignore my previous recommendation's since they are not likely to be available in the voltages you'll be looking for.

Yeah, should have mentioned these need to be 600V.

Jensen makes good ones with 500V rating.
If you really need 600V rating, Vishay/Sprague might be a reasonable choice.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
