H15 + cable management

So I finally got my H15 installed. Took all day as I tore apart my rack top to bottom to re-route everything. Had a lot of fun along the way (my wife about died when she came home from lunch and saw it all apart on the floor). Looks pretty darn awesome IMHO.

I decided to use 2 channels per front and put the Integra on bi-amp. As a result I use 2 IC's per L/R (one from surround rear L one from front L, etc) but I think it sounds better after recalibrating via Audysee. Its not like my Integra cant handle my surrounds.

Also have the front 3 set at full range w/ the surrounds @ 60hz and the sub @ 80hz

Pretty awesome IMHO. Cant do anything about the rest of the cords in the back, but now if we get a new TV, I can push the rack back flush with the wall with NO problem at all.

P.S. Looks like with the new apartment we will end up with a Plasma rather than a PJ. Too much ambient light issues. Looking at a Panasonic 60" S30, ST30 or GT30 model. Wont be for a bit though as we gotta save up the cash.

Gotta love winning the LCD v. Plasma battle (I hate any refresh rate over 60hz as it tends to add too much motion blur when playing Halo or watching movies IMHO).

Uverse is THE BEST. We can record up to 4 HD shows at once (if we watch one of the ones recording). We love starting a show in one room and finishing upstairs. Its nice to access all your shows from any room. Makes me life better since my wife can watch her housewifes, grays anatomy, teen mom, sister wives shows while I sleep.

Looks nice but those 15's are way to close to the cabinet. They need to be positioned out at least a few inches and directed to the listening position. I want to see the back of the cabinet.
The room looks inviting and warm. I love the chocolate wall color.

This should give you an idea of what I'm talking about. This is when I owned them many years ago.

Trust me I am well aware, BUT the wife wont let that happen. My goal is to get a entertainment that is much wider next time around so I can just kick them out a little bit and be where I want them to be....

Thanks, I helped pick it out, but it was mostly the wife lol....

I saw what you did on the floor behind the cabinet , looks really clean. I wanted to see how you wire managed behind the gear as well. I thought I saw some velcro , that is what I use.
You gotta tell the wife to let you bring them out just a inch or 2. It will make all the difference in the world. Tell her I'm a professional and it's my duty to save you of bad audio especially since you have a really nice system. Tell her I'm wiling to chat with her to help make the right choices. Or invite me over and I'll go all professional on her and show her the light. I also use there favorite music against them as I position the speakers in the correct position , let them listen , then move them back where they are wrong but look nice. They usually let me to my thing.

Yeah, I used Monoprice Velcro ties, like 50+ of them lol. Will take a couple pics. The cable management back there isnt nearly as good as I am extremely space limited. My Carver is positioned where it is as it wont fit underneath otherwise. Behind the H15 its a somewhat jungle. I am not totally done there since its hard to pull the rack all the way out. I plan to get some moving men to put underneath the rack so I can slide it forward and work on it from the back.

What entertainment center do you have? It matches the LSi's perfectly and my wife would love that. I just need something thats like 20+ inches deep so I can have some extra room behind the gear to route the cables.

Eh, I fought that fight and lost. The problem is that the entire setup is centered in the room, which is what the wife wants. If I take the LSi's and move them out, the right one will be too close to the sofa for my wifes liking. I cant move the entire rack to the left since she wants everything centered like it is now.

In the new apartment (in 6 months) we have enough depth that I should be good to have a couple feet left or right to place them like you have them in your pics.

Mantis since you asked I took a couple more pics before I am crashing for the night.

Please note as stated I have very little extra room behind most of the components to do any tidying up, so I did the best I could. I also don't have the ability to cut and wire my own Ethernet cords or I would have shortened the ones I use now. I had color co-originated cat6 cables but they were only 3 feet and they wouldn't reach in the new setup.....

So it looks a lot worse than it is.... I tried to take pics of the back of the Integra but it wasn't happening. I have less than an inch of clearance if that there.

And I say that only because I have seen your installs and they make me mad because they are cleaner than I can do right now, so I am jealous

Here is a shot down the length of everything. I routed all power cables and whatever I could through the cutouts in the unit, but the Signal Cables were just too big so they went on the outside. They also wouldnt bend any closer to my setup than they are in the pics.

This is the Xbox 360 and blu-ray player cables, both HDMI, ethernet and power. The 360's power brick is a bit of a PITA but oh well.
    IMG_0154.jpg

This is the amp section. Note how much farther out the back it sticks. As stated each LSi 15 is using 2 sets of connections. Each one is wired with a set of AudioQuest FLX 14/4 wire so I can bi-wire, ghetto bi-amp, or regular wire as I feel the need to. Same wire is connected to my LSiC as well but not bi-wired.

Uverse DVR box and router. Green cable is data. Everything is routed through the H15 including these wires.

P.S. anyone know how to setup a 12v trigger. I need to get the wire to do so, but wanted to use the 12V trigger from the Integra to the H15 so I can turn on and off the Carver and the PSW125 when everything goes off for the night.
