Just so you guys know, amazon has 20 bucks video credit and 5 bucks off if you pre-order the game. I loved the first one, was something completely original and blast to play. The only problem of course was it was extremely short. But since it came along with the orange box, I have no complaints. I'm sure since this one runs retail at 60 bucks, it will come with much more.

Anyways, just fyi. If you never played the first one, buy the orange box now!

The first game was definitely fun......for me.
This game wasn't for everyone. Probably because it was just a "solve this puzzle and move to the next" type game OR they couldn't figure out how to solve the problems.

Co-op will be interesting to say the least and i presume there will be a lot of yelling over the headset at each other.

With that said, i'm going to wait on this one. Not that i doubt it won't be good, i just want to make sure someone else i know is going to pick it up so i will have someone to play co-op with.
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

If you buy it through amazon will it be through my steam acct or seperate?

Valve's previous retail games (post steam release) included a product key to register through steam. After registering the product it would show up on your game list just like the games you purchased through the steam store. I am not sure how it works for the PS3's steamworks.

I don't buy many games, mostly because I've grown tired of being burned by over-hyped games (anything after CoD:MW for instance).

I think I'll buy Portal 2 though. If nothing else, it's worth it for the sheer replay value as well as the custom maps option (if they keep that).

Nice!! I didn't even know they were going to have that.. That was one thing I wanted so bad in the first game.

And maybe this will shed some light about half life episode 3 since they left a huge cliffhanger in episode 2... nearly 4 years ago!!!

I just played the first one because I saw this thread. Wow, it was short. Started after 7, finished just now. I did like the end credits song though.

Btw, for those with PS3 and PC:

The PS3 version will come with a PC version too :)

You just need to install the PS3 version and link your PS3 steam account with your (regular) PC steam account. That makes it the most complete and cheapest version of Portal 2.

So, is this thing being released in like 3 hours? I guess there was some debate over the release date.

    What a great game!

Finally got the game on thursday, enjoying the game so far, I'm already on chapter 7. The only complaint I have right now is the number of portal "spots" are very limited. In the first game, it felt as if the these walls were part of the building(well I'm talking more about the ending when you're free). While in this one, the feel as if they were placed there only so you can proceed.

Overall this game is easier than the first time I played portal. But thats only cause I've played the original so many times, all the harder tricks in that game (like momentum) is like second nature now. Regardless, still a great game.

I've been playing this... I kinda think of it like HL2 EP 1... HL 1 and 2 were all original, no "oh, go and do this again to waste some time"... then EP 1 says, "oh, why don't you go back in there and play with the gravity gun some more" ... kinda fun... but unoriginal...

portal two ...oh you're back?... lets escape..again...

I know of a few people that have finished. I think where the game will shine is with online user generated content. Now if the darn Playstation network would come back up. Thought we were buying the best copy since you can play the PS3 game on a PC. Only thing is you need the playstation network up.

The coop/online stuff was pretty short. Beat it the next day with 2-3 different random people but it's still fun nonetheless.

I found the chambers challenging, even more challenging than the original, and the insanely simple challenges were created for comedic effect.

I finished the sp last night and I definitely prefer the first one. The first one was funny and original... This one had less humor (imo) and wasn't very original. I found myself extremely bored through the middle section... like from CH4-the end ...the final sequence was cool, but the whole game doesn't seem to be on the same level as the first one
