Thanks to Russ I now have a nifty Carver CD changer.

I have never been a fan of fiber optic, but this changer has one out and analog outs.

Does anyone have a recomendation on a Fiber cable?

buy the most expensive one you can find. You don't want any of those 1's and 0's getting lost in the magical voids of cheaper, inferior cables

Then buy a cheap one and have somebody help you with A/B'ing them. Return whichever you deem necessary.;)

I love the digital out on my Carver changer, but sometimes it randomly stops working and you have to jiggle it a bit. I am going to send it to Carver repair one of these days....it is great though to run into my Phillips CDR-880 CD burner...:)

Buy a cheap one. A little thing called error correction makes sure you get all your 1's and 0's.

The smaller the diameter of the optical cable the more suseptable it is to breaking if you have to make a sharp bend in it, otherwise not much difference.

I have been down the digital road before..........buy a high quality cable to make sure you don't get loss. From how I understand it,the glass based cables are better then the plastic fiber cables.Glass is much more money and

Why are you going to use the digital out? Is this going to a receiver? Have you tried the analog out yet?

I haven't used the analog outs on this unit. The changer has a single bit DAC and my receiver has a 24 bit DAC, so I am using the receiver's.

You should try to do an a/b comparison with both digital and analog connections hooked up. A good quality single bit can sound better than a bad quality 24 bit. The DAC in my CD player smoked the one in the receiver.
