I want to give a sub a try and keep it in the family...the PSW10 is for sale near me for $150.....can't find it among the Polk products...

thoughts? it would be used for heavy duty HT movie/dvd concert use.....(smoke free of course)

I have PSW-10. It works well for me as a music sub, but I think it lacks the power and frequency extension for serious HT use.

you shold be able to buy a new one online for about 100. i own one and use it mostly for movies and music and it performs pretty damn good for me.

It's hard to beat the PSW505 for the price...

To really beat it, you would have to spend over 2x the Amazon price.

If you are getting serious and wish to consider other than Polk you will find most threads on this board will recommend subwoofer-only manufacturers like Hsu: STF-2 and a SVS PB-10, Velodyne SPL.

I bought a Acoustec Bic H-100 back in 2007. The H-100’s dimensions are approximately 17"H x 15"W x 18.25"D with a weight of 42 pounds. The single rear vented cabinet houses a front firing, graphite injected, 12" cone woofer. The H100’s internal amplifier provides 150 watts RMS (500 watts dynamic peak) of power output. The frequency response is 24Hz to 200Hz. Designed by Dr. Hsu. The H100 uses the same BASH amp as the HSU STF-1 (150w RMS / 500w peak). It was highly recommended over in the AVS forums.

BIC America F12 apparently replaces the H-100 and Amazon has it for $183 shipped.
