Speaking of Sony they had a 55" xbr 8 regularly $5000 for $1899 with the Sony bdp s1000es. Everyone there was paying attention to the 3d stuff everything else was like a ghost town. -
So go check for yourself.

Not yet, waiting on my new center and surrounds to come in. Decided to go with a better center and plus I still have my kefs which sound soo good too me. -
Called today with the sku number and there were two available. Went to the store after work and they couldn't find the units. I found it on one of the highest shelves in the store above the TV displays. However, they only had silver. Needless to say, the store only has one left now. Thanks for the heads up.Shawn

The model # of the one I got was BDP-S1000ES. I guess the S stands for silver or at least thats how they used to designate the color.Shawn

PQ is equal to the ps3 and elite bdp. It doesn't scream out $700 IMO. -

PQ is equal to the ps3 and elite bdp. It doesn't scream out $700 IMO.
but it upconverts sd-DVDs alot better than the ps3. -
I picked up one of these units from Vann's a little while back. I have been very happy with it so far. BD and DVD look great. For $99 i dont think yo could go wrong, provided you did not want any extra internet features. 5 year warranty and great PQ is enough for me.Front - RTiA5's

10% off of $99.00 it was a floor model they found me a power cord for it, it was sitting on it's side by the service desk in magnolia section.Does it still carry a 5 yr. warranty ? thanks

It should carry the same warranty....go and get it! Well worth it for around $89 bucks.

I decided what the hell, I might as well go check my local Best Buy today after seeing this thread the other day. Didn't really expect them to have any left. I walked into the Magnolia center and saw one on display, so I asked the salesman if they had any left in stock. They had one left besides the display and he even took another $10 off for me:D I'm guessing this should be better than my Sony BDP-S360 lol.I love animals, they're delicious!
