I received my MFSL Santana Abraxas. Very sweet sounding LP and well worth the money.

    Thanks Joe !

    Cool!

That's an ancient Decca (US) pressing of Who's Next spinning in the photo above. I bought it for a dollar at our town fleamarket last fall but never listened to it until today. It sounds fantastic; easily the best-sounding copy of that seminal album that I have owned. I've yet to have the opportunity to hear an original UK pressing.

    That's a negative.

I do have it, but never tried it (didn't seem to be a need to use it).

Here's something interesting for you and Mr. Hardy. It is a rerelease of the Stones Let It Bleed on 180 gm vinyl. It is done in DSD. When I first listened before reading the liner notes or cover, I kept thinking to myself, "man, this sounds just like an SACD!" Sure enough when I read the cover it was indeed done in DSD. It just sounded awesome BUT it didn't have that airy openess of the analog version I have. It was however dead, dead quiet and there was that really good weight to the music that I find in SACD.

It is definitely worth a listen and owning.

Check it out. As a matter of fact I did a short review on this link of my impressions way back when I bought it.

    http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/12495/The_Rolling_Stones-Let_It_Bleed-180_Gram_Vinyl_Record

If you click on the LP picture it will pop up with some tabs, one of them being reviews.

Joe,Mark and Tracy,,, if any/all of you get the Stones LIB,,please let me know how you like it,,reason is,,I have an original pressing(maybe played twice)on British vinyl and I would like to now your impressions,,also,,since your ears are better than mine(seriously),I'm not opposed to sending mine out for comparasion. Thanks--george

I'll take you up on that George. I have the original analog recording (don't know the label off hand) and the DSD mentioned above and would love to do a comparison with your Brit version.

BTW you know me MR. ANAL, your LP will be treated like gold.

The Scout's awfully nice; I probably would've bought one of those but the Marantz as a demo was cheaper! :-)

Thats how I bought mine, sort of. WHen you consider the price, cart, arm, motor and table it is a great value.

THe Scout has always been my favorite but out of range at the moment.
