No kidding. I am at a loss as to why we are the only ones here talking about it.

Not really except to say that the redbook (CD) performance is much, much improved over the standard player in my opinion. I highly recommend the SE for anyone doing analog audio out from this player. I wish I could hear the NuForce to compare.

Do you play any SACD's on it at all??

Sure do and I believe it is improved as well. However, I was pretty happy with the SACD performance before. I really haven't done much SACD listening since the upgrade. Only a couple titles.

I haven't listened to any of my DVD-A's yet. I think Ron has done some DVD-A listening and could comment.

There will be others soon :D I am just waiting to see how much I owe uncle sam before I commit any money to anything audio at the moment but I assure you before the end of the year the SE or NuForce model will be mine.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I wonder how the nuforce model compares to the modwright model. It seems both rework the signal paths. Modwright claims there are no opamps in the signal path whatsoever and installs custom power supplies. That being said, the upgrade is at least $500 to $1000 more expensive.

Also, how much better is the nuforce than the SE?

Not sure what the percentages would be of improvement as you go up the upgrade path. One thing that does concern me though is that after a certain price point when does stand alone units become more attractive? Also with chip tecnlogy advancing so quickly todays digital winners can and usally are beaten by a much better and cheaper product.

That being said at some point one has to jump in and commit, you could wait forever or at least till the current formats are replaced if one continued in this vent.

I was just reading another thread on HD TV's versus 3D tvs and the whole should I wait issue.

I was all set to buy this thing and then I heard a tube CDP that just made all my redbook cds sound new again. I'm at a loss. The tube CDP is nearly as much as the nuforce. I'm torn between my new HT system and my old two channel glory trying to creap back.
