Congrats. I noticed a big improvment when i got my vsx-82txs to replace my Oink TXSR701. Tons of power and plenty of options. I got the mic with mine. If you want i can mail it to you so you can setup the MCACC. Probably a better mic over the Onkyo one so you will get better results. Let me know.

    Congrats again

I just wanted to day that this is really cool of you. I know it doesn't add anything to the thread but it shows how the members of CP like to look out for each other.

I borrowed my neighbors mic that came with his onkyo. Did pretty well, now tomorrow when everyone is gone I will do it again. I did have to drop off the rears quite a bit they where pretty loud. I will try to get the one that it is suppose to have but not sure if it will make a difference.

The Onkyo mic will NOT give you accurate calibration. Maybe on level and distance measurements but not frequency response. Audyssey and Pioneer's calibration algorithms are bound to be completely different. Do youeself a favor and get the right mic. Use a tripod and carefully make your placement measurements. You will be much happier when you do.

Exactly and very cool of Pauly :)

Not that one mic is better than the other, they are specifically calibrated for the receiver. Auddyssey and MCACC are definitely different and I'm sure the mics are calibrated differently.

Oh ya man thanks a bunch. I am going to call pioneer and see how much a new one is. Considering I am planning on moving out in about a year I do not want to have to bother you again for it LOL.

No one was home today and I just cranked it. Man I can not take it past -4 to loud!

Plus, you may want to play with the mic location when calibrating. Believe me, if you have any "tweaker" in you at all, room calibration is a rabbit hole. ;)

LOL honestly it is not a bad center at all. I got it on clearance at best buy a few years ago. I am thinking of selling it because i want to get all my speakers to match. I am looking at the monitor 70 fronts and the neter to go with it because I already have the monitor 40's and the matching sub.
