Just FYI, you can control what size the images are when you upload them to Photobucket.

Here's a shot of my XPA-5 hookup. Using Monoprice interconnects. Note one is left hanging unused since they are configured as stereo pairs. I'm pretty sure they are just 75 ohm coax.

Oh and I would say to get rid of the factory provided interconnects-they make work, and you may not hear a difference for obvious reasons, but your wife might (or maybe not--I know my wife could care less) but they likely have no shielding from RF interference, etc.....There has been enough praise for Monoprice cables (for the money) and for $3 each pair-that's $9 for a set-- you simply can't go wrong.

either monoprice or emotiva cable brand... i m using what i plugged is for temporary... but i can tell little difference using amp :D

    Thanks for suggestion madden

Its all good--I was thinking more long term.
I don't recall interconnects coming with the Emotiva--maybe they came with the Onkyo??

I also have yet to upgrade my speaker wiring and such--I have the replacement-just haven't had the time to pull the wiring not to mention rewire the cabinet. The XP speaker wire is like only 18 guage so I bi-wired the L, R and C to at least get the equiv of 15 gauge wiring there (wether or not there could any other sonic improvements).

I'll be upgrading my interconnects soon to with all the cable I just bought from SolidSqual--esp since the XPA takes the XLR connectors. I had some all Silver interconnects for a short time, but they were only 3' and I really needed 4' min.

im not stacking it up, only did it for photo shooting and i plan seperate it :D

thanks for warning though... Onkyo will be placed on top of amp on the rack, seperately on shelf. Will show rack setup photo later.

Good choice on placement of the Onk. In my basement HT/Game room, I have my second Onk 805 in the top position in the rack-I also placed some fans on top to help keep it cooler. Heat rises so it makes no sense in putting the hottest compnent on the bottom, essentially adding to the ehat of any compnents above ya know.

Do you have an attic or basement in your new place?

If I'm understanding CP's previous posts correctly, I think what they told him is that he needed to use analog RCA interconnect cables (which is what he is using in the pix above, albeit the low quality freebies that come with most electronics), not the digital coaxial cable that he asked them about (which seems to be what he bought).

They both look the same, so, without reading the text, the image of what he bought above looked acceptable at first glance.

    Awww Yep, makes sense now.

Don't mean to threadjack here, but someone on this thread suggested Caligula needed : http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/DISTRIBUTED-BY-MCM-24-810-/24-810 . This would allow his emotiva to turn on when his avr is turned on.

I have a Yamaha HTR 5890, along with Emotiva XPA-5. Looking to find a cable so when I turn on my Yamaha, the Emotiva will turn on.

    Thanks guys!

PS: Caligula, I'll be posting pictures of my setup in the next week :) (I sent you a PM)

Yup, That mono cable will work, you could also use a stereo cable, and they might be easier to find at the local BB.

Does this cable have a certain name instead of "mono cable"?

CB, I like the look of the black side rails, instead of the silver, where did you get those?

    Jimmy

Normally you order them from Emotiva:
    http://emotiva.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_list&c=7

But if you click on the link they are not showing up--Not sure what's up there.
Or like others have done, you could paint the silver ones (they are removable).

You really need to get thicker cables. I'd be afraid those scrawny things will burn up and melt. :p

"She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself."

All joking aside on the terribly cheep ICs: if the amp doesn't hum and it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?
