I have zero gear at the moment... Except for my SDA'a...

A pre amp will be on the way Friday.

And I am ordering a XPA-2 Friday also.

All of it should be here by Monday... I should take the day off from work.:D

Really. It could possible all be here Saturday. But I', not getting my hopes up...

I'll probably open the ERC-1 up in a minute to check the contents though...

No. I don't really believe in them..... I would just assume have a good source with good DAC's.. Less wires and electronics to get in the signal path..

I still might try one, one day though just for the knowledge...

    Why?

    Nik

Wanted to compare my current CPD w/ dac vs. the Emotiva to see if it would be more cost effective to buy the ERC-1 vs a decent dac.

I'll still probably bring my Elite down anywho. :)

Nice Pic, Nikolas! I think I like what you did to the aluminium side strips on the XPA. They're really just a gimmick and I grew tired of the look myself after a few days. All black would be my preference too.

Those are factory black, and are available as an accessory, for most, if not all of their products.

I think most people feel this way. Which is probably why they come with the aluminum side strips.;) But even at $20 they aren't making up much profit.

Nik, was going to tell you to enjoy your time with the ERC but looks like you are.:D already

Yeah curt, i believe you're next....

Nik.... i'm experiencing opposite on my system of what we heard on your system.

Without getting too far into it and letting cat out of the bag, remember how we were split on which one we liked better, and that you liked one slightly more?

I agree with you now.... but then that price vs. performance rears it's ugly head. Especially since it's like.... maybe $20 better. :p

I think my girlfriend is going to make me buy the ERC-1. She giggled like a schoolgirl when i powered it on. "oooooOOOOOOOOO PRETTY!" Wow.

Oh, and i have pics.... i'll get them up soon. Everyone in the demo may disagree on a lot of things with this player, but i bet we can all agree that it's VERY good looking.

My whole system looks pretty good.... Not like it matters. But it does. A little.

She doesn't like the damage to the bank account, but so far, i've been pretty lucky in that aspect, considering that i'm demo-ing a cd player right now that costs more than i paid for the rest of my components. Combined. :p

She balked at the $400 price of the ERC-1, but then i pointed out that i COULD grab a $3000 cdp, and i think she understands now. She understands quality, it's just not something she really cares that much about, but as long as she hears a difference, she's not mad about spending on it. Flip side? She's perfectly fine sitting at home in the same room as the 2 channel setup, listening to music on her laptop speakers.

I'd say you were pretty lucky. Have all the songs that are on her laptop put on an Ipod/mp3 player Fix it so that she can hook her Ipod/mp3 player to the 2 channel system, put it on & she will be happier still.

Unless I'm traveling or going to the gym mine is sitting there attached. When I want continuous music I put it on & have music while I'm on my pc or reading without having to worry about changing a disc.

I feel your pain. How about: "WHATS THAT"? LOL. Funny, when she has girlfriends over and brags:" OOOOH! Oh!, my husband has a great sound system!". But 99.9% of the time, complains or doesnt care! LOL. Oh well, ya gotta love em anyway.:)

I guess i timed it just right in the drop off.

I wonder if the package i shipped to the Netherlands at the same time will be there already? :D
