I kind of liked "Keiths" approach using a brush combined with yours.

I want to see how close I can get with a brush. I'm planning on using a finish like this for the subwoofer (front and back) I want to build to match these speaks I just finished:

Interesting article. Even though I don't agree with it.
But I have a biased opinion since I work for a body shop.
The article is also 10 years old. Things have came a long way since then.
I would put my work against his or anybodies for that matter. Any day of the week..
He keeps talking about how durable his method is and how mines not..:rolleyes: What are going to do? Roll your speakers down a flight of stairs every day?
Sorry. I started to go on a rant. I'm just proud of what I do. And it sounded like the guy was knocking it.
Either way. I think your good. Judging by the speakers you just built. I don't think you'll have any problems producing something wonderful. You do nice work.
Be sure to document it or at least let us see the end result...

Jesse, if you could have seen the finish that Nik did on the end caps. You might wonder why he's not spraying finish coat on the hand built DP's.

But yes. You are correct. Its hard to achieve without wet sanding and buffing.
But can be done sometimes...

Fantastic as I knew they would. Finally got them hooked up and the sound is different than the 2B's, but give me a few days with them and I'll be able to explain it better.
1st thing I noticed is that I need really need some spikes. These slick willy's slide all over the carpet.
My wife said they look wonderful and did not even ask how much they cost to be painted (that may be the 1st time ever she did not question the cost of something).:cool: -

Same with my SDA's but I've got studio models. Imo still aesthetically pleasing to look at (with grills off of course) but think I'll leave the upgrading for my tweeters+ x overs. Conradicles, think im going to need you to keep me posted on your x over upgrades, talking to dracos he gave me real good ideas on what to do but was just wondering what your plans were and would like to hear the end result!Truck setup
