A big improvement? Well, as with most tweeks it's more of a cumulative effect. The thing with using Dynamat Extreme verses something else is that it's been specifically designed for said purpose......and it works very well.

Thanks for all of the comments! When I walk by them I still stop and think..."Dang those look good".

The 1C's are now in my H/T rig (Sorry Russ...He said he would come and take them back if I use them as H/T speakers!).
They look too good to keep in the Man Cave. But the SDA-2B Studio's are in the 2-channel rig and sounding sweet!

Beautiful. Can't wait to hear your review when they are done (how they compare to the other polks in the pics). That model is my next purchase after my CRS+ upgrade. Congrats.

No. I did repair all of the cloth on the side grills with the use of staples when the sides were removed. The front grills were perfect.

TL the 2B's and you'll never have the urge to switch them.

Sweet! Now you are making me think about doing my SDA-1C's! I did add spikes recently and noticed a slight tightening of the bass response, plus the wife actually said they looked cool! I purchased these spikes:

Can you explain how you achieved the finish?

Nikolas812 (a member of this forum) painted them. PM him and he can give you the details. He does great work and I can tell he takes pride in making things look their best.

Conradicles, if you decide to spike your 1Cs which would be hot Black and brass. I suggest Myespikes. Much tighter and punchier bass than the stock nylon buttons on the bottom.

Those are absolutely gorgeous! Good choice on the piano finish, methinks, Conradicles! It really brings them up to date IMO, compared to just about all of the other new finishes I have seen tried with these. They look brand new, and stunning, even compared to a whole range of newer stuff (including some of the high end brands).

P.S. Let us know what the WAF is like, and if you don't have a "W" meter in residence, borrow somebody else's ... just make sure you calibrate before testing!
