$4000 budget for HT seating suggest ?

Have a few big jobs in the works and would like any suggestions on home theater seating in or under my price range

It needs to seat 4 people
It must be powered

Shame my wife wont allow me to get my rti8's right now

Next to the speakers i consider this the most important part of ones HT setup

I would also like to see pictures of what the members of cp rest their booty's on

    I use 4 mop buckets with CHARMIN on top for comfort.

    While seats are useful, they are nowhere near being the 2nd most important part of a HT setup. In fact, they are not even required.

    I just put in new seating in my theater. The room is not 100% dedicated to theater but pretty close. the wife didn't want the dedicated theater seats since there are usually dividers between each seat for cups. Can't watch romantic chick flicks with seats enforcing the 6" rule. :)

    I can post pics of what we went with. We put in a 3 seat leather sofa with two of the seats reclining as well as a love seat with both seats reclining and a separate rocking recliner. Works quite well for the room. Cost with an end table was just over $3,000 at Ashley Furniture.

    you may want to check the system showcase, I recall seeing several Polk members with some pretty nice seating arrangements. With home theater being so popular Im sure you can find something rather comfy for under 4 grand. A reclining leather sofa does it for me.

    (I opted against the power recline and buttkickers) I bought these 3 years ago. I'm sure prices have gone down since then.

    With a $4000 budget, you won't have a problem getting everything you want. I'd bet you can do it for under 3k.

    I was rather thinking of 4 individual seats with the pop holders . That way I can have the justification of buying a new couch at a later date

    Its gotta be somthing dark that would be moved into a dedicated theater room for when i move into a house .I know its not the second most important part of ones ht for everybody . To me it is because unlike receivers ,video equp and screens its the one thing I plan on being a permanent fixture

    Not sure I could get a full picture of your seats dpow but thats an awesome dedicated theater room you got there

    There are a number of funiture companies that have home theater seating ie: La-z-boy but as dpowell states, you have to carefully consider what your configuation will be like, taking into account what your wife wants. I am in the planning stages at the momment as next year when my daughter goes off to college I will be dedicating a room for H/T. I looked at theater seaing but my wife objected to the seats with the arms in between as she likes to snuggle.
    As far as powered seating, this is something I have not seen but I'm sure its out there and expensive.

    Slow, slow, slow........Ive tried to give you the benefit of the doubt to a certain degree. You have claimed in other threads that you have been looking for RTI8's day & night, and in this post you claim "your wife" won't let you buy them. Now your asking for seating arrangements for a theater room you dont have to put in a house that you dont own.     The reason I wish to spend 4k instead of 2 to3 is so that I know the motors inside the chairs will last a long time with heavy usage

    One time last week i went to best buy and sat down on one, I asked the sales rep why it wasnt plugged in and he said the motor's burn out because of all the customers sitting down to try them out

    For your info the rti8' are on amazon for 120 with 65 shipping ? My wife has all the cash card and if you read my thread .sniperd a csi5 for 99 dollars on ebay thread last week ,youl know why my wife doesnt like speakers and wont let me have them

    Can some one tell me why I just explained all that?

    Anyways I hope to wrap this up in 2 weeks or sooner and pic my seats sorry to waste Knobheads precious time guys

    Motorized seating? An interesting idea...but why would one need that...just curious as I recently visited a friend who installs HT's as a profession. He has a dedicated HT showroom in his house he uses for clients about 12 X 19 X 10'....thousands in wall to wall sound treatments, buttkicker like bass modules in each of two step-down rows of reclining 4 person per row theater seating, two MONSTER Atlantic Tech subs....and 10's of thousands of dollars in amps and surround speakers along with a 10K Sony LCD projector. The entire set up around 100K+, the seats are really comfortable and have a table attachment as well as cup holders but none of them have motors? I'm just curious about the reason for motors? It would seem a useful option for the aged or handicapped, perhaps?

    I've owned both and prefer the motorized seats. They're alot better.

    As stated in my previous post, power recline and buttkickers are an option that can be added on through most dealers.

    I'll pm anyone the info for the dealer that I used, he was great to work with, and very reputable. (He is not local to me, I worked with him via email and through avsforum)

    You can place the whole couch up against the back wall and still have them recline all the way out
