Emotiva ERC-1 Buy-In for demo

Curt,
Crashed last night before I could get around to it. I'll do it this afternoon when I return from my meeting.
There are a couple of demo revisions... I will PM the members that it affects. Sherard is pulling out of it, and Jerry is moving to the end before Ben (since they live near each other) -
Cool, can't wait to see the results of our next drawing.
So, are we gonna come up with the 1500 bucks for those Tyler Super Towers next?;):pThe nirvana inducer-

Congrats to Duell! I'm also glad I get to have a pair to integrate into my rig.
Thanks again, everyone. I will hang onto everyone's info, so if you need something from me just let me know. In the meantime, enjoy the music! -
Congrats guys! Looks like you got your karma, Dane.

Sorry i couldn't throw in, this weekend was interesting to say the least, and i didn't get a chance to check in, and that $20 would probably have not been too smart.
Are we going to have a progress thread where people can post up pictures and we can all go "OOOOOOOOOO AAAAAAAHHHHH" everytime it arrives somewhere else? Or just update here?I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I'm actually going to back out as well, for two reasons. 1. I initially did this simply to eliminate all the calamity on the other thread, and 2. I want the West Coasters to get it as soon as possible.
James, I for some reason don't have your address either. Send that to me and Curt when you get a chance...

Thanks for updating the list Dane! I think it's a lost for the group if you and and Sherardp wanted to pull out from the Demo.
I wanted to urge you and Sherardp to rethink the decision and be part of the demo. Whether we are in the East or West, we'll all eventually get a chance to demo.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
I also think I should be the last one to demo in the West before shipping the player back to Jerry.

Have to agree with Megasat here Dane. To me it wont be the same without you involved in the Demo. You when't out of your way to put this whole thing together. Organized it, Cash, Drawing's, PM's, Setting it all up with Emotiva. An awesome job that everyone involved, graciously appreciate's.
I fully understand the reason's you gave for bowing out, it say's alot about your character, could tell that with only a few post's on a computer, arguably the most impersonable form of communication on the Planet! LOL.:D
But you like myself, and the other member's in the Demo, (and Club Polk for that matter) have tired of the BS everytime an EMO thread is posted. That was the reason behind the Demo idea, which you presented to the Forum. Im not an EMO "fanboy" at all, i do own the Xpa-3, but it's my first amp. Very affordable and, so far no problem's.
As the perceived leader of the "group", and with all due respect, i think your letting everyone down here by not taking your turn in the Demo. Hold both you and Sherard in high regard at Club Polk. Thought we were all in this together to see what all the "Hype" is about. Was looking very much forward to your impression's. Would like both of you to reconsider.

Alrighty guys, you twisted my arm. I'll stay in the loop.

I'm sitting here watching the Foo Fighters concert on Bluray... breaking in my caps. New Outlaw amps on the way next week. I'll do my best to provide some beneficial feedback. But certainly don't have the best gear for which to compare.
Nonetheless, I appreciate the kind words. -

Glad to hear it Dane, and congrats on the cables!
Don't worry about your equipment. If any of us were in shape to have top dollar rigs, we would have probably just bought the ERC-1 outright, to try.:D
Curt and I are fortunate to have access to some nice players from members here locally. (RAS)
Thanks again for being the brains and the legs of this operation. You did a hell of a job. -

Good to hear you're sticking in for the demo. Since you organized it all, you should definitely be participating.;)
I don't think many of us have what you'd call top of the line systems either. I know I don't.
As Duell said, we should be able to really put it through it's paces here in the mid-west. We're setting up a RAS gathering when we have the ERC-1 here, and we'll be comparing it to a number of other players. The players in attendance could include a Bada HD-22SE, Rotel RCD-1072...possibly a Jolida JD-100, and I might have a CDP by then myself, which will probably be an Adcom GCD-750...they're all in a similar price point, so it should be a good shootout.

Love it! Glad you guys are able to arrange this!! I should see if Irishaz is around anywhere... he's the only local Polkie I know. (In fact, a good portion of his system was purchased from me)

Dane, I almost forgot to tell you that I haven't sent you my address coz I'll be moving from the current address. I don't know when and where yet but I didn't want to send you an old address. Guys I'll stay in the demo. My only regard was that I am currently traveling with work and out of pocket until July 2nd or 3rd. If you guys skip over me until around that time that would be great. I could spend two or 3 days with the player and get my ears on it ship it afterward. I just don't want to inconvenience you guys since I'm kind of distant. Thanks for the reconsideration, much appreciated, and if all is ok I'm in.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I am sure everything will work out for you.

Trying to bow out for gear was silly.

Look at my rig, i probably have the worst stuff this player will see on it's entire tour of the country.
Regardless of the gear, we'll all hear the difference.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Glad to see you two back. Since dane got the ball rolling and Sherardp you were one of the first to jump in, it just isn't right any other way. -
Wonder if it's better than a 640c v2 ...

Good to hear.
So are you actually located in Japan, or just there for work? Someone had mentioned that it would be shipped to you in San Diego. (I think?)
Either way, I don't think the July date will be much of a concern. It will be totally dependent on how long each person evaluates it, of course... Allowing an average of 14 days for the player to change hands, (10 days use, 4 to ship) I should receive it like late-August/early September-ish. That's my best guess, anyway. Hopefully you're not dealing with only a 2-3 day window.
I too am dodging an out of town work schedule with this demo, so I understand completely. Frankly, I had to wait to see the schedule to guesstimate whether or not to drop out, myself.:) -

Hey Guy's,
Wife called me at work, Fedex delivered the player at around 9 am EST. During a short lunch break, i thoroughly examined the packaging, and needless to say, i was very impressed! Double boxed, a 2 1/2 inch layer of ridgid styrofoam and cardboard top and bottom, completely encasing the unit. Got home from work, and couldn't resist a test run. Not a review till the end as we agreed, just covering my ****:D: Unit is in perfect shape, remote, detachable power cord, all accessory's are intact. Contrary to some who have experienced some trouble with this feature: The front slot loader is working perfectly. I dont have a great camera, but i did include some pic's.

Just an update to everyone involved in the Demo. Out of the box, the ERC-1 cd player we received from Emotiva is performing flawlessly. No problem's whatsoever. The front slot loader, as i mentioned in my first post, has performed like a champ. I have fed this thing a dozen or so cd's already, with no trouble. The remote leave's something to be desired,as far as changing, or inserting batteries. The remote is very heavy-duty, but to have to extract 6 small #2 screw's from the back cover is a pain in the ****. Other than that, i find the layout nice and friendly. Just wanted to provide some detail's to everyone on our investment.:)
