Pics plus the verbiage from a Polk brochure. Oak finish along with the following quote "THESE HAVE A NOTCH ON THE TOP SIDE SO YOU CAN USE A STANDARD OAK PLANK TO INCORPERATE THESE INTO A ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM" which I don't understand.
Good luck to Polk lovers in the South! Apparently it's pick up only.

It appears that he cut a notch in the inside top edge of each of these to run a board between the two. It wouldn't be hard to replace the tops if desired. He says he'll hold them for 60 days, which means that it would give you plenty of time to arrange shipping, I'd estimate shipping costs at about $250.00 plus crating fees.Political Correctness'.........defined

FYI - The interconnect cable is NOT included. What would one cost?

I bought mine for $35.00 this year straight from Polk. Check the club price list - I think you can get them cheaper (I wasn't a member then because I didn't know about it). You need to make sure what type of connector they have though. The twin blade connectors are still available. The pin/blade ones are not or so I'm told. Best of luck!Tour2ma: Note to self: Talk to Justin about changing jtc's rank to "part-time, distant, **** second cousin, Polkie"...

Har Navalta makes custom pin/blade cables, he is a member of the forum.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Hey Big Dan - I noticed you're the current high bidder. Best of luck to you!
I also read the description that the seller posted. I may be all wet here, but I think the seller "doctored' the description of the tweeter. The verbage seems to be describing the SL3000, not the SL2000 as it currently reads. I don't think the SL2000 has anything "vapor deposited" as the description reads. That, along with the whole testing bit that was done at John Hopkins was really done for the trilaminate tweeter. To be on the safe side, I'd ask for serial numbers. They might even be the original SDA's like I have instead of 1.2s. It's tough to tell from a picture!
Just an FYI, but you probably knew it already.

Hey Jason, as you might already know I bagged them!
Thanks for your support!
I seem to think $1659.00 is a good price even thought the interconnect cable is not included which I find a little strange.
I emailed Lauren with the serial numbers and she said they can't determine what the model number is????
I am assured by the seller they are infact the 1.2's.
Now I will finally have mates to go with my Carver M 1.5 etc. which I have not been able to really test yet.

Ask more pics and post it here and we can tell which model
will be, ask to picture the x'over the screws arrangement alone
we can tell which one.
raife's the expert on this one.

Enjoy the speakers Big Dan! Glad to see you got 'em. SDA's are tough to beat no matter which model you've got!Tour2ma: Note to self: Talk to Justin about changing jtc's rank to "part-time, distant, **** second cousin, Polkie"...

Well, after some diligent efforts to determine if these were really the 1.2's, it turns out they were not! They are the SDA SRS originals. I had the seller pull several drivers and none were the 6511's. He "really believed" they were the 1.2's and did not realize there were other SRS models that look almost identical by photo. He had them for 9 years and for the ebay auction, he obtained his info from various web sites which happened to be about the 1.2's.... My quest was most helpful using the info from Club Polk posts; I didn't get anywhere with Polk upon submitting their serial numbers for model verification ect. Polks serial numbering system is another subject for discussion......
Sooooooo, anyway I did not buy these after all. As great as these speakers are, I believe $1,657.00 plus $290.00 for shipping is too much for them! I would rather spend this money on the real 1.2's or 1.2TL's, so my search continues.
Thanks guys for your support and suggestions.

Sorry to hear that Big Dan, keep the faith

It's a shame that you have to be an expert in SDA product history in order to buy a pair of these. The sellers frequently have no idea of exactly which SDA speaker model they have.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
Dan,
Sorry to hear about the false start. Know you were salivating...
Seller has relisted with corrections...

It'll be interesting to see what they go for as SRS's. If past form holds it should be $300 to $500 less than 1.2's.
IMO $1659 for a pair of SRS's was cheap. Lowest I've seen SRS's go for is ~$1900. I think the "notching" held the price down here.
Did Seller offer a price reduction given that he mis-described them?More later,

I paid $1400 for a mint pair with original boxes and sales receipt. That price also included delivery.:DProud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -

Thanks raife,
Had obviously missed these earlier posts. Now I know the story of your HT anchors... Great bargain for you.
There was the guy at Audiogon with two pair for $1500, but on ebay on ebay though under $2000 for SRS's is a good deal.More later,
